We got this car seat because it looks good and is on the lighter side. The base does not fit in my car but that's not saying much since it's a Mini Cooper. It can be strapped in with the seat belt though. Also, it comes with a base which is stated no where in the description.

Having used a Peg Perego infant car seat before, I was overall disappointed with this Maxi-Cosi carseat. We use it with our Bugaboo Frog stroller, and it is not easy to take on/off the adaptors. Also, when you need to take the carseat off of the base in the car, it requires you to use one hand to release the seat from the base, and the other hand to lift the carseat off. Its tricky to do and not as easy as the Peg Perego, where on that seat the release is on the carseat itself so it's a lot easier to take off the base. Back to using it with a Bugaboo, there are two buttons on the carseat you have to press at the same time to effectively take it off the adaptors. It takes quite a tug and pull to get it off, and doing it while holding both ends of the carseat is cumbersome. All the while your baby is assumably in the carseat adding weight to the seat. I have to brace the stroller with one leg to keep it down, hold the stroller by both ends and pull it off while pushing the stroller down. I wish the straps had velcro to hold the straps to the side while you're getting your baby in. The design is cool, and it's lightweight. That's the best I can say about it.

I got this because it is really lightweight, stylish, and can connect to the Bugaboo stroller. However, after a certified car seat inspection in our 2006 Prius & Nissan Leaf, it was determined that the Maxi-Cosi Mico CANNOT be safely installed in the middle-rear seat. The base does NOT have an angle adjuster. As a result, you have to have a car that already has the ideal angle for it to work. W/o the base, the seat required a towel to achieve the correct angle and this prevented the harness from being adjusted.
It would install safely in the side seats, but that is not as safe a location as the center seat. I returned the seat.
