A Note on Fit
The cover is designed to reduce bulk between legs at the crotch area at the larger settings. The wide gussets are elasticized to ensure a snug grip around the legs to prevent blow-outs. At the smallest setting, the cover will fit babies even smaller than 8 pounds, but it will be a tad bulky. Which is usually not an issue with small babies as they don't tend to move around at that age.
