A friend recommended this book in preparation for separation anxiety for pre-school. My daughter really seems to enjoy the book but I have yet to see if will help with this transition.

Comments about Llama Llama Misses Mama:

My daughter attends daycare, and has recently developed separation anxiety. This book is now one of my daughter's favorites. At first, she cried when we read the book, which offered my husband and me a lot of insight into just how difficult it is for her to say goodbye to us. She connected with the book, read it over and over again that first night, and requested it first thing when she woke up the next morning. Now she requests reading it virtually every day. Our daily daycare drop-off has since returned to a smooth transition.

My 2.5 year old asks me to read this to him every night and throughout the day! Even without the book around he asks me to recite it and has memorized more than I have of it! I highly recommend it for any child starting school or even transitioning to a new school.

Cute, but it's not Red Pajama

Comments about Llama Llama Misses Mama:

This is a cute book, but it's not as clever as Llama Llama Red Pajama. It's nice paired with it and it's also good for kids transitioning to preschool.
