The magnetic side is great---even very young kids can make "magic masterpieces". The chalkboard side requires a bit more effort and co-ordination; but kids grow so fast, I am sure it will be used well in no time. Only downside is the chalk eraser---way too small! Needs to have a bit more "chunk" to it like the chalk.

This was purchased as a gift for my grandson. The magnetic doodle board part of the toy is worthless. Any scribbles/doodles that are made on the board quickly disappear. Parents suggested I return it for a refund. It was too much trouble to return so I donated it to a charity.

We have two of these[...] and neither works correctly. The image starts to disappear almost immediately after drawing on the board.

We did not like this product. Any drawing or scribbling done on the magnetic side disappears as soon as you wrie the next letter without even erasing it. This defeats the purpose of our toddler learning writing/drawing and deciding to erase it. We are looking to return this product.

My 2 1/2 year old loves this! It keeps him entertained for 20 mins at a time. It is a good size and durable! (my son like to throw)

I bought this for my active 18mon. old. I'm creative, and I want to nurture that in him - but I also have a 3 month old who needs attention, so I can't supervise painting or coloring until he's old enough to control his impulses! This is great for him to start scribbling on, but everything is self contained. I didn't even try the chalk yet - he's sure to find that if it draws on the board it will draw on the walls - so I'm waiting until he's older, but the other side is wonderful for his short attention span.
The price was worth it, and he really enjoys scribbling and erasing.
