We already own this lovey in pink and in white. My toddler prefers (demands) the pink one and will not relinquish it for washing, so we had to buy an extra one. However, the lovey starts out very soft and fluffy, but after several washes and outings, gets somewhat matted... much less fluffy. So needless to say our new lovey is not even comparable to the old one yet. It will require many more washings to make the new one become more worn like the old one. This is a great lovey/security blanket, but be aware that it will not stay soft and fluffy for long.
