I have a tall 2 yr old so the fit was great (didnt interfere w/ tray behind us). I bought this b/c my daughter loves car seats and being strapped in, this made flying similar to road trips for her, so it was great.

Borrowed a friends harness and loved it so much had to get our own since we travel so much. Totally worth the price.

I gave this 3 stars because it's not "perfect". This is a good product, but better for bigger children. We bought this for our two year old, and she is very tiny. I recommend buying some fleece shoulder straps and bring a child size blanket. I tucked her blanket in around the uncomfortable spots, and we had to do a lot of adjusting through out the flight but, I do think it was safe for her. She didn't complain, and fell asleep a couple times. It will definitely be almost perfect now that she is bigger. It is small and compact, and will use it over a car seat on the plane any time. One sort of "problem" I had was, that in order in install it, you must reach around the back of the seat and unhook the tray back table on someone else's seat. This isn't a big issue until you come across someone who is not very friendly and doesn't like you in their "area". So advice is to try to get on the plane early, this doesn't always happen, and you can get some nasty people, or some really nice people who will assist you and smile. Also I would practice at home on a dining room chair before doing it on a plane, or else you might get frustrated. It's easy after a couple times, and after the first "fitting" you can leave it at your child's height. Overall, I do recommend it. I hope this helps!

Love the idea, but poor execution. Belt around plane chair slips loose. Main complaint; My 3yr son old slipped underneath hipbelt, was not comfortable. This item lacks the crotch strap to prevent slipping in the chair and staying in upright position. WOuld not recomment this item until it comes with the 5th strap added

We have used this for our older son, starting when he was 2 years old. It's very much like the 5 point harness of toddler car seats, so it was comfortable for him. We had no issues with trouble getting comfortable or sleeping. We will absolutely use this for our youngest as well. When your child outgrows the infant seat, this is the perfect, safer alternative to the lap belt!

We used this safety belt with our 2 year old on an international flight and it was a disaster. It was very difficult for him to comfortable and he couldn't fall asleep. We used the car seat on the return journey which was a much better option. When using the safety belt the child sits in the airplane seat which is just too big for a toddlers little body, I stuffed all around him with cushions and blankets but he still couldn't get comfy. At least in the car seat they are snug. I also thought the car seat felt much more secure.

We purchased this for our 2 year old, we fly long distance (7 hour flights) twice a year. Our 2 year old couldn't get comfortable using this harness, even with cushions and blankets padding the seat, airplane seats are just not designed for little bodies. We have subsequently used the car seat for flying and it is a much better solution than this harness.

I can see how this product would work for an older child but for a toddler it was a disaster.

I feel SO much better having my three year old fastened in with this. We got it as soon as she was two and needed her own seat. True, it could use something between the legs to keep the child from slipping down. I gave it four stars instead of five for this. But, the work around is to fold our travel blanket or small travel pillow under her legs and that seems to help her from slipping too far down (but she's never slipped out!). The alternative to NOT having this is not an option (ie. take her car seat, which is too big to fit, or use just the lap belt.) It is a lot of money to spend, but we travel a few times a year and don't regret our purchase one bit. I think airlines should provide this, but, that's never going to happen so you may as well make sure your child is safe! If you're not sure on this purchase, just buy it, you'll stress less about the flight. I know I do.

This might be helpful for a chubby kid, but because it has no crotch piece, my skinny daughter could still slip out of the seatbelt on it's tightest setting. She can also at 23 months unlatch the seat-belts, which is a separate issue, but makes this product useless until she is old enough to know better.

What a wonderful idea! The belt fits in my purse, and makes the entire flying experience so much easier. Depending on where we are going (and if we are renting a car or not) we either leave the carseat at home, or check it with our luggage, and then put the kids in their strollers and gate check the strollers. So much easier than wheeling the car seat through check in, security, and through the terminal.
Onboard the plane, my kids seem to be better behaved because of the novlety of traveling like an adult aka without a carseat.

This belt is great and I'm not just saying this. My 2yr old and I recently flew he had his own seat because he weighs about 33lbs and is not comfortable sitting on anyone's lap. Before the plane took off he was asleep, and slept through the 2hr flight. This seat belt held him in place and I was happy because I did'nt have to take the carseat on board the very tiny plane. It fit in my hand bag no problem. And is easy to install.
