We bought this for our Grandson's second birthday. The minute we brought it in he was right in the middle playing with everything. As a previous coment from another buyer I also glued the houses and pieces together to prevent swallowing, misplacing or just having them all over the place. If it were mine I would also glue down all the tracks so they don't get taken up while playing with them.I would recomend it highly

I bought this for my son's third birthday. It included everything you could want in a train play set at a bargain price. It was easy to assemble. There were only 6 steps to assembling the table. There were several more steps for the small town/train set pieces. There was one wooden track piece that was defective. If we hadn't already owned several Brio track pieces, that may have been a big problem. Also, I used Gorilla glue to assemble some of the play set pieces (Police station, etc.) The pieces would not have stayed together without some kind of glue. It was all very easy and fast.
