      • KidGear The Kid-Comb

Combing a child''s hair can often be a challenging event to say the least. It can be so painful and uncomfortable that some youngsters see the comb as a torture device to be avoided and feared. Finally there is a solution, The Kid-Comb.

This new comb is double-sided and engineered just for youngsters. One side of The Kid-Comb has larger, wider spokes that are perfect for clearing away nasty tangles. The other side of The Kid-Comb has closer spokes designed just for styling the unique texture of young hair.

Small balls and dulled points have been added at the spoke tips to gently massage and relax a child''s sensitive scalp. These soft nubs relieve the scratchy pain caused by most adult combs.

Finally, The Kid-Comb''s fun and playful design encourages nervous youngsters not to fear hair-combing time. A child can look at The Kid-Comb and say "That''s my comb and I''m not afraid of it." Take away the fear and add some fun with The Kid-Comb.

          Comments about The Kid-Comb:

If your baby has curly hair (mine does) you will bless this comb every day. One side is almost more like a pick and the other is a wide tooth comb. You can comb through your baby's hair twice and have it be smooth and snarl-free with nary a tear.

On the other hand, if your baby has straight hair, do not buy this. It is large and won't make any sense to you.

            Comments about The Kid-Comb:

I purchased this comb because it has a wide tooth side. I have a child with curly hair and this comb has been great in removing tangles and keeping the curls (when the hair is damp) from frizzing.

                Comments about The Kid-Comb:

Both my kids squirm when we comb their hair -- except with this comb. The teeth are very gentle and feel great on little scalps. It's not a good comb to style little girls' hair (the teeth are too wide for that) but it's PERFECT for detangling after a bath.

                    Comments about The Kid-Comb:

This comb is great. Both my boys have thick curly hair and used to hate hair combing time. The big black adult comb I used really scared them. It will never be a fun chore, but at least this is a much gentler solution. I highly recommend it.

This comb is not the prettiest instrument(it's actually kind of ugly).. which is the reason I gave it only 4 stars. However, it works great on my curly haired baby! I use the wider spaced side for detangling, and the closer for parting. She has a lot of hair, and I can't imagine the pain she'd feel with a regular comb.

                            Comments about The Kid-Comb:

Nowhere in the description does it mention that this thing is large enough to substitute for a ping-pong paddle. It's at least 7" long and 4-5" wide. At that size, the teeth are MUCH further apart than they appear in the picture. It is awkward to hold and the handle is uncomfortable. My one year-old has a lot of thick, super-fine long hair that gets constant snarls in the back. After using this, her hair didn't even look like I'd touched it. And trying to define a part? Good luck. Maybe this would work for you if your child has curly hair, but we will probably toss in the sandbox- it would make a fabulous rake.
