      • Safeway
The KidCo Safeway is a hardware mount gate that provides maximum safety at the top of stairs and in high traffic doorways because there is no bottom threshold to potentially trip over as found on pressure mount gates. While it is specifically designed for top of stairs use, the Safeway can also be used in hallways or as a room divider. One of the original KidCo gates, the design, functionality, and ease of use have proven it to be a parent and baby proofer favorite for almost 20 years.

        • Easy one hand adult operation
        • Quick release hardware allows gate to be easily removed when not needed
        • Directional stop prevents gate from swinging out over stairs
        • Hinge side hardware can be mounted on an angled surface
        • Heavy duty steel construction
        • Adjustable width
        • Gate Width: 24.75"-43.5"

        Comments about Safeway White:

Needed a gate to keep my 3 year old twin boys out of the kitchen. When they worked together, they could easily knock over the pressure mounted gates. This one works great! I don't see them getting through this one! It was easy to install, it is easy enough for my older kids to use and it is sturdy. Great product!

        Comments about Safeway White:

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is the amount of work it takes to install. We used this along with the stair adaptor kit because it needed to attach to our baluster on one side. It took my husband a couple of hours to put everything together, but it was worth it. I love that the gate doesn't have the trip hazard at the bottom that most gates have. It has a simple but effective opening mechanism that is FAR easier to use than our other swinging gate at the top of the stairs. I recommend it if you are willing to spend a little extra time on the assembly than an average tension gate.

        Comments about Safeway White:

We live in a townhouse and needed a gate for the stop of our entryway stairs. We had a hard time finding one that didn't have a bar across the bottom. This one swings and has no bar (trip hazard) across the bottom. It's a good gate, but we did have a little trouble installing. It's hard to measure so the holes are even on both sides. We did get it up correctly. Overall, I'm happy with this gate.

        Comments about KidCo Safeway White:

Bought this and the bannister install kit to install at the top of our stairs. We have the wall on one side, bannister on the other. Because the bottom of the wall side has moulding/not exactly lined up with the top gate hinge, the top hinge came out of the socket every time we tried to open it. Tried just about everything to get it to work (shims, moving holes, moving gate, moving banister kit), but it wouldn't work. Very frustrating.

Instructions are not easy to follow.

This gate might work for some people, the quality was fine, but I'm not a fan. Went with a DreamBaby gate instead. Setup was a breeze and it fits perfectly.

        Comments about Safeway White:

This is nice gate and nice concept, but installation is a pain. We had to order two different install kits with it. We read other review to know what to order. The gate itself is good, but the install kits are hard to adapt and directions a challenge to follow. Once set up, we really like the features and performance.
