Comments about Finger Guard - Gray (2 Pack):

Yes, they are hard on the hinges! Just gently closing the doors with these in place as described in the instructions leads to the door breaking. Placing them on the outside doesn't allow protection for finger pinches on the hinge side of the door, so I'm disappointed! Also, if you have a strong toddler, if the door is closed quickly, it can spring back and hit them. Happened to our little 2 year old. But maybe now that she's learned this lesson, she won't be slamming doors any more! So... maybe this product is awesome after all, because we don't need it now?? Time will tell.

Comments about Finger Guard - Gray (2 Pack):

OK.... I read the review and completely ignored the fact that it does break the door in seconds. This is exactly what happened with my bedroom door. My 1 year old son just tried to close the door once, and it was broken. However, my suggestion is, to put it NOT inside the door, but outside. It will prevent the door to close all the way.

I use these guards on the outer edge of the door (insead of the inner hinge.) They are easy to attach to the door, and when you want to close the door all the way, they conveniently fit over a doorknob.

While my son wishes he could close the door all the way, he seems to be happy with being able to close and open the door without issue. Plus, the most important part is that he does not get his fingers pinched in the door.

Good idea but bad on the hinges. I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old. They like to close doors and tried after I put the finger guards in. They did not push hard on the doors just tried to swing them closed. Doors were hanging off hinges after a couple of days. Even after we fixed the hinges the doors do not close right. I've gone back to blocking the doors with furniture.

Made of high quality rubber/foam, extremely easy to install. They make it impossible to close the door, even when the door gets slammed. I just wish they gave you more in a packet. Overall a very good product and I highly recommend it.

This is great.....but my son pushes the door closed and one time it sprung back and knocked him down. I still use it because it is generally a safe way to avoid having him smash his fingers.

These door guards are great and you can't beat the price. I like them better then another kind that I tried because these are smaller and thus fit on either side of the door (hinge side or full side of door). I've had them since my daughter was about 6 months old--and now that she is 13 mos and loves the "game" of opening and closing door repeatedly-these have saved alot of little fingers! I'm ordering more !!!

I just put the finger guard on one of our doors last night. I have a 17 month old who is into everything. She tried to close the door, and with the finger guard on it, it sprung back and the edge of the door whacked my daughter in her forehead, giving her the biggest bump and bruise of her life. Overall, I think it's a good product, just wanted everyone to know what could, and did, happen.

I have used finger guards that attach to the knob side of the door, which leave baby's fingers unprotected on the hinge side...of course that's where my 10 month old wants to put her fingers when she attempts to open and close the door. These finger guards are much better. They don't allow the door to close far enough to pinch tiny fingers on the hinge side of the door. They have saved her from hurt fingers MANY times already. A great product!

                    Strong secure hinges are necessary!

Beware if you have a strong, persistant toddler. My thirteen month old daughter would not accept that she could not close the door any longer and pushed as hard as she could to close the door. The finger guard actually gave her the leverage to pull the door hinges part of the way out of the door frame. So make sure you have good long screws securing your door hinges and a strong door frame if you use this product. It also might help to start using it before your baby learns how to close the door.
