Comments about BabySteps Freezer Tray- 2 pack:

These are great trays - unlike some of the others, the portions are exactly 1 oz. They are dishwasher safe and come clean very easily. The only thing I dislike is that each tray only holds 7 portions. It would be nice if they made the tray a bit deeper and had more portions. The portions take a little bit of work to remove - a few twists and sometimes a knife - but they are easier to get out than some of the other trays.

I have found these to be very durable and agree with previous reviewers--as long as you only use them for temporary storage, they work great! I make my baby food, put it in the trays and let it freeze for a few hours (or overnight) and then remove the cubes by running hot water over the back, and store them in freezer bags. It's so much cheaper than buying prepackaged baby food. Once you're done, just pop them in the dishwasher and that's it! I bought one set a couple months ago and am back to buy two more so I can make more food at one time. Highly recommended.

Ice cube trays are better - and cheaper!

I purchased these when I started making baby food about four months ago. It didn't take many uses before the edges all started to crack and subsequently break off altogether. I ended up buying six well-made ice cube trays (maybe $2 apiece) and have been much happier with them. If you only use the trays to freeze your food before moving the cubes into separate storage (I use freezer ziploc bags), ice cube trays will last longer, hold more food, and cost less!

I have read on other sites that people have issues w/ these cracking and hard to get the food out, but if you take the food out once frozen and not store in them - they last longer. I pop them out the next day (or even a couple of hours later) and store the food in Ziploc bags.

          No more smelly baby food

I found these trays really useful for my 6 mos old baby. The serving is just right. I always rinse the back of the cube that I need to take out with hot tap water and it comes right off(use fork if needed). No need to bend the tray to break it. But put one hand one the food side when you rinse the back, otherwise the cube might fall out before you turn it over.

I've tried to freeze freshly made baby food in ice cube trays and covered with foil paper. The food smells like fridge. After I started introducing veggies to my 6 mos old boy, i found this tray really useful. When I need to take out 1 or two cubes, I used hot tap water to rinse the back for 3 seconds and they come right off (use a fork if needed). You gotta place the other hand on the tray to prevent the cubes from falling out before you turn it over.

This tray was dropped onto a linoleum floor and broke right in half. The lid broke in half as well. You'd be better off using a regular ice cube tray. Same size, cheaper, and less likely to break.

I didn't think I had the time to make food for my first child, but now that she's a picky eater, I was determined to make homemade food for my second. It wasn't hard at all and so worth it! These trays made it so easy to store. After making a few batches of something, I would freeze them and pop them out into a freezer baggie. It was so quick and easy when I needed it on demand. Make sure to run the bottom underneath warm water first as it helps the cubes come out.

I decided to make our baby's food at home and these trays have made it so easy. I cook and puree the food then spoon it into the trays and put them into the freezer. Later I pop out the food cubes and store them in freezer bags. I rinse the trays and put them in the dishwasher.
