Not including a key in something that requires one is irritating. Latch does not work on more than half of these I purchased. Too expensive and mechanically complicated. Stick to something that doesn't require keys, magnets and internal parts.

Love these drill-less locks. Make sure you order the starter set with key. This set of 4 does not come with a key. Also useful to have a backup key. BIGGEST ADVICE: Read the installation instructions carefully. I missed the part about TEARING OFF INSTALLATION TABS. This resulted in some defective locks. Once I tore off the tabs, they worked perfectly. Great for curious crawlers, toddlers.

These were good for the kitchen in our apartment. We didn't have to drill at all into the cabinets, you don't have to see the lock on the outside of the cabinets, and they work keeping our little guy from opening the cabinets. One came slightly defective, but it works if I manually lock it. I think it's best for the kitchen because that way you always have the magnet key close by. Plus other strong magnets work to unlock as well. Really easy.

I agree with most of the other comments:
Pros:
-Relatively easy to install
-No room to pinch little fingers

Cons:
-Pricey
-Adhesive doesn't stay long (It probably would withstand a 1-year old's force, but inevitably Mom or Dad will forget they're there and force a cabinet open...or two...or three...); however, you can always keep the screws that are included and screw them in if needed.

Adding a Con that nobody's mentioned yet:
-Must be installed vertically. Meaning, for my kitchen drawers that don't have an inside frame above each drawer where I could attach the lock (frames are on the sides only; it is just drawers on top of drawers), I had to install these horizontally and attach the locks to the side of the frame. However, the lock will not engage properly in a side-mounted position. The lock engages with gravity and unlocks with the magnet. So only buy them for cabinets that have an interior frame/shelf on the top side where they can be attached.

I bought these from another site but wanted to post my experience since there are a lot of good reviews here. I had them installed by a professional handyman/contractor. The first problem was that I was not able to close the cabinets all the way once these were installed, so they were always open a crack which did not look good. Then, one of them fell right off the cabinet door after about a week of use. I opened the door gently and plop...onto the floor. This one was on the door under the sink, the one that gets opened the most frequently. The ones on the doors that don't get opened much have not fallen off yet. Needless to say, the failure of the adhesive makes this a questionable product for child safety. It's probably best to get the kind that you have to attach with screws.

I love these! I had delayed getting cabinet locks because I always felt too busy to install them. Friends convinced us to get these and I had our whole kitchen covered in about 10 min! Our 16 month old gave up trying to get in the cabinets within 1 day of having these on. The only drawback is that you need to tell people that they are on. My brotherinlaw was staying with us and pulled really hard and the adhesive came off. Not a huge deal because there is a spot to screw them on if you need to.

I recently installed these adhesive locks on my kitchen cabinets because my 1yo is very curious and needs to be kept out of cabinets for a little while longer. Right now he crushes his fingers and throws items that should not be thrown. I had the locks that go around knobs with my 1st son and it worked fine. He was not as curious about cabinets and drawers though. I also could not use the old fashioned locks because my cabinet frames are too low to fit a finger through for release. So far I really like the way these locks work, though it does take some adjustment to really work well... and some practice. I found that removing the inside buttons that decrease banging sounds, helped the lock engage more easily. I may get smaller buttons but so far the lock itself works as a bumper. The adhesive seems to working well. My guy pulled hard at the cabinets trying to open them and I thought he'd break the adhesive. But it stuck and he is slowly losing interest. I like that I can disengage the lock for when he is not around, and I like that my cabinets are not damaged by screws. I also like that he can't open the cabinet at all so that his little fingers don't get pinched. with the knob locks, he can often get the doors open enough to hurt himself.
TIPS:
1.remove bumpers on inside of cabinets if your lock does not engage easily.
2.removing tabs on the inside piece made lock engage more easily. I removed the 4 tabs after I installed the locks so that I had them lined up correctly.
3.Heed the warning not to use the locks for the first 24 hours. Just disengage the lock after you know it works and allow the adhesive to cure.
4. clean cabinet surface to make sure it's clean enough for a good stick. I used rubbing alocohol and waited a few minutes.
5. Use a pencil to mark the top tabs. I kept the locks engaged with the tape off the outer lock so that the matched up. I just closed the door gently and then applied pressure with my hand.

I just bought these a week ago and my husband installed them in minutes. Even though the lock design is a little inconvenient and takes a couple of days to get used to, its worth it to me, knowing my 8 month old cannot get to our potentially dangerous cleaning products. The magnet is strong and the key works great! I would recommend this to anyone, and I am here today to buy more!!

My husband and I really LOVE these kinds of locks. They close snuggly so there is no place to get little fingers stuck and pinched. This is a good product especially for a rental home (which we have) because once installed they do not leave marks when removed. We bought these for all our stationary cabinets (like under the kitchen sink and bathroom sinks) BUT THERE IS NO KEY INCLUDED! We fortunatley have the screw mounted locks for our mobile furniture (desk and china hutch) and the other key worked; but this set DOES NOT HAVE A KEY INCLUDED so be warned.

I loved these locks at first. We have have very expensive cabinets and my husband did not want to drill into them. We installed 24 of these and within a day maybe 1 or 2 fell off, most likely due to user error. We have had these on for a year and we have about 3 left that actually work. So I guess they are good for a shop period of time, but my son is 2 and still very curious. I would not recommend these since they are very pricey and do not last.

I love and installed them myself. Very simple to install with no drilling or screws required. They also work just as well as the magnetic locks that require drilling. Buy them, you won't regret it, they're worth every penny!

Fantastic product! Magnet system is much stronger than Tot Lok and there is no drilling involved. You can buy sets with the key included both in retail stores and online. Our kitchen cabinets were too thick for the TotLok magnet, plus you have to drill into your cabinets with that system.
