These liners, in conjunction with the Pottete portable potty, are indispensable. I bought them back when my child was 2 years old, and am still using them three years later. I bring them with me on long(er) trips (zoo, outings, picnics) and I keep another set of potty/liners in the car. We never need to find a gas station or restaurant when my child can't hold it any longer. AMAZINGLY, once the bag is used, if you tie it tightly, it does not leak! I have never had an accident in three years of using them. If you plan to buy the potty, get the slightly upgraded one with rubber on the feet.

The pottete in general is great for potty training, particularly for children like my son, who is still often afraid to use anything but a potty. The liner bags are very good because they are so absorbent, so if you're in a place where you really can't risk leaking they will work so long as you put them on correctly. On the other hand, regular small plastic shopping bags can be used - since we often get these when shopping, we try to recycle them by using for the potette - but they are not as reliable.
