Comments about Car Seat Gate Check Bag:

Worked fine on our first trip, but after the second, we had a large tear in the middle of the bag - cheap, not durable fabric. Might as well use the airlines' free plastic bags, as I can't imagine those being any less durable.

Comments about Car Seat Gate Check Bag:

Purchased for two RT non-stop cross-country flights. First time travelling with baby and wanted something that would protect his car seat from being damaged on the plane. We have the Britax Marathon 70 Convertible Car Seat and the bag fit it with room to spare. This was easy to use and durable. After our second RT cross-country flight, it doesn't show any wear, other than being dirty from plan. I'm not sure what a previous reviewer was reviewing when they said the zipper broke - maybe they were talking about the zipper on the built-in pouch that this folds back into. The pouch could have been a little bigger (took some work to fit it back in). Also, they cord is very long, as a previous reviewer mentioned (since the bag is so big) and the cinch part does not stay in place. I found what worked best for us was to cinch it tight (with a little room to tuck the cord into the bag) and then tied a knot behind the cincher and tucked the cord in, everything arrived still closed and in the same place. Our flights were nonstop and we gate checked the car seat so we did not need to worry about it making connections and making it through baggage handling, which was helpful. I was so glad to have this with my flights.

Comments about Car Seat Gate Check Bag:

I recently purchased this to fly with my sons Britax Chaperone carseat, as the Britax travel bag is currently out of stock. In the description it states it will fit, however after a frustrating attempt to get the seat in the bag, it does not. We wanted to bring the seat base with us, I guess they left out that it will only fit WITHOUT the base. An important detail. I would not purchase this again.

I bought two and used them for a trip to Florida. The zipper broke on one as I opened it for the first time. I put a car seat in it and it then ripped along one of the key seams. The other worked fine for our other car seat.

This is my 2nd one (gave the other one to friends). Overall handled the airplane travel great. Made from plastic so could tear (but didn't). May not last too long for frequent travelers but worked great for us (1-2x/year).

Comments about Car Seat Gate Check Bag:

The car seat cover works well for the price and keeps the car seat clean. I have used it in cross country trips and it has worked well. It isn't the best construction so you will probably get at least 4 uses out of it. I have gotten 8 more out of the ones I own. Also, the bright red bags are easy to spot in the airport. We don't travel a lot so we don't feel the needs to invest in an expensive one.

Comments about Car Seat Gate Check Bag:

Despite the mixed reviews, we purchased this gate check bag to travel with our Graco car seat in a Kolcraft frame. So far, we've used it on over 10 flights and it's in fine shape with just a few minor snags/tears. It's especially easy because it folds up into a little pouch that we can toss into the basket of the frame for when we arrive into the airport and it takes no room to store at home. We know it won't last forever but, for the price, well worth it.

This product is great as it folds down so small and is easy to use. We use it when going through the x-rays at the airport and then when we gate check it to keep the car seats clean (Britax round about and frontier) Also used it with the Graco infant car seat when my son was younger. I like having the car seats with us if there is an extra free seat to use it in and having it on last and off first. Less damage and it stays cleaner this way. We travel often so have two of them along with the stroller gate check too. Great products that are easy to clean off too.

Comments about Car Seat Gate Check Bag:

I used this to check my car seat for an international flight. As the other comments noted, it's pretty thin fabric and tears easily. That's why it's for *gate checking* - but I ended up having to check it at the counter because the airline would not let me gate check it for some reason. Using this bag protected the car seat better than not having something over the car seat, and I really couldn't find any other affordable options. So...

BEWARE: the cord to close the bag is VERY long, and the car seat missed an international connection because I did not tuck the cord in and it was caught on a conveyor belt at Heathrow.

We did manage to get it from the next flight, so everything worked out OK but it was pretty banged up and had some holes, and of course the cord had been ripped off of the bag by the machinery! But if that's what the bag looked like, at least that didn't happen to my car seat. So, my own fault, but just realize that it isn't a super sturdy bag.

THis gate check bag saved our car seat from all the filth of the planes cargo hold. Yes, a trash bag could work, but will tear! As to the other review that said poor construction, I think it depends on the crew! Mine made it two flights there and two back with a lot of dirt, but no holes! The crew actually knew it was for my baby so they always had it waiting at the gate before me! I used it with the gate check stroller bag!
