this is ideal for a 4-6 month baby and has none of the harmful bpa's that are in other infant toys! perfect for learning to grab. My son loves it and we had no issue with pinching like some of the other reviews.

My Mother got this for my baby, around 3 months, he could hold on to it if we put it in his hand. We would make it rattle and I would roll the rings gently down his face. He loved the feel of that. Now at 6 months its his favorite toy. Its great for chewing on, and shaking. Even to study it. I also love that it is a wood toy. I would definitely get this again.

Our seven month old has about ten thousand toys thanks to very generous friends and family but her favorite toy is this little wooden ring. She loves to shake it, gum it and look at the colors. Everyday at some point my husband will say, "Where is the ring?" because we take it with us everywhere.

I loved this toy at first and so did my son. When he got around 5 months he became more forceful/aggressive with it and he got pinched, a lot. So there were times he cried, but he went right back to playing with it and learned not to do that again to get pinched because now at 9 months he doesn't hurt himself with it. I would not recommend this for really young babies. Paint does come off. I washed it a bit and noticed more and more washing away every time I did it. But I wasn't too worried about him mouthing it since it is non-toxic. It is a good rattle and more fun then most to play with but it needs improvement, maybe loosen up the elastic in there and use a stain instead of painting the wood.

This is the first toy my 6 month old starting really grabbing at and remains her favorite now that teething has begun in earnest. We like Haba toys in general, but this one never fails to capture her interest - a real keeper.

My daughter is 6 months old and has gnawed on the ring since she was 4 months. Last week she was playing and all of a sudden started to scream. I looked and two of the colourful parts of the ring had pinched her lip. The ring was actually hanging on her lip. I tried it on my finger and it hurts if it pinches skin. We have thrown this toy away.

My baby is 5 mos. old and has been teething for over a month. She loves to chew on this, and it's easy to hold! I love that it's wood and coated with non-toxic, vegetable-based products!

I loved this item at first. Great colors, thoughtful way of putting the wooden pieces together and the baby loved it too. But then I noticed that the paint was actually coming off when he gnawed on it. At this age, everything goes into his mouth and always has saliva on it... there was actually green paint on his face and his bib. This paint is suppose to be non-toxic, but I still didn't feel comfortable.

My son loves this toy. He is 4 months old and it is great for when they first start grasping things because it is easy to hold on to, colorful, and fun to jiggle around (so it seems by my son's contentment).

He loves playing with the smaller rings, chewing on the larger ring and playing with it when it slips up his arm. We have 8 wooden Haba toys for our now 7 month old daughter, and she has loved them since she started grasping around 4 months. These are toys that can be used for many babies to come...they are non toxic...they provide endless fascination for such a simple toy. We are huge Haba fans! This specific toy is one of her favorites - if you are only going to buy one or two Haba toys for a younger infant, this should be one of them.

This has been a great, safe first toy for our baby! I like that it doesn't have harmful dyes. I was skeptical at first because it was made of wood. My baby is teething big time right now, and this teething ring has not broken down at all and I like that it isn't made of any plastic. I wanted to provide first toy's that don't have plastic as there seems to be some uprise in news surrounding dangerous ingredient's in both plastic and paint. This toy is all natural down to the paint. I recommend it for anyone, it is a worry free toy!

This is one of my baby's very favorite toys. She's had it since birth but really began playing with it around 3 1/2 months and still loves it two months later as a rattle and a teether. It's especially good for distracting her during wiggly diaper changes and in the car. When she's tired of holding it often it slips onto her wrist and she jingles it around, delighting at the sound of the two wooden rings clacking together. I've been very pleased with how durable and easy to clean it's been. We've since purchased several other Haba toys and she also adores their "Trio" triangle clutching toy.
