We absolutely love our Rody! So much, in fact, that we're thinking about getting the jumbo version for mom and dad to ride along with. :) Did you notice the weight capacity on this is 300 pounds? True story. We're no 300 pounds, but we bounce on it all the time. It is too small to get very far, and quite difficult to balance, but it can be done, and my toddler gets a real kick out of it. I have seen loads of kids ride the Rody Horse because I work at a daycare and they have 5 of them... and ALL the kids 1 1/2 and older love them, the oldest being nearly 5. The youngest I have ever seen to master the Rody is my own, and she had bouncing and turning down at 1 1/2 - within two months she was able to properly move it forward and navigate... and now, well, she could do practically anything she wants with it, and she is still under two. She is rather limber compared to some toddlers, but is in the 50 percentile, so I don't imagine size would be a problem, even though the reccomended ages are 3 - 6, unless the child is very petite. Love how good a work-out the Rody is, and honestly I liked the smell when it arrived. It dissipated almost completely after a couple of months though. Rody is extremely durable - bounce him, throw him, use him as a cusion, bite him, draw on him, throw him off a building onto some jagged rocks - WHATEVER. He can handle it. We've only ever had one Rody in six spring a leak at daycare, and he had been over-inflated and was quite old. We are actually still using a Rody from 10+ years ago.

Both my boys ages 1 & 4 love this toy and won't stop riding it. Very well made. Think I am going to have to buy a second one.
