We've been through lots of car seats--about 8 at last count. Most recently our car was stolen, taking a Graco Nautilus and another seat with it. We checked the safety info from Consumer Reports before we decided to buy this one again, but it was a no-brainer. This one is rated as safer and more comfortable than almost all the others. They're easy to install, not as heavy as the similar seats made by Britax (trust us, we have one--they are soooo heavy, and heavy does NOT=safer!), and definitely more comfortable. We took two car trips with my son in the Britax that goes up to 70 or 80 lbs with a harness, and he had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. In this seat, he's taking 1.5 hour naps in the car again when we travel. And the placement of the cup holder and cubbies for kids to keep their little things is great. I haven't tried this as a booster--either with a back or without--but I'm sure we'll like it. We actually replaced both stolen car seats with this one, so both kids will have one. We bought the one with green piping--It and the one with red accents pictured have the least black on them. That's my only beef with this seat--there's lots of black and dark gray or brown on almost all of them. It might hide dirt a little, but in the summer, those dark spots get really hot and my kids cry.

This is an amazing convertible booster. Keyword being "booster" this really shouldn't be used by any child unless 2yrs old and over 40 lbs. up until that point your child should be rear facing.
Our four year old who is 43" tall and weights around fifty pounds fits perfectly in this harnessed and has a very long time until he will be unable to use the five point harness - which is the best feature! With some comparable seats my son is already grown out of the height restrictions based on the shoulder strap height even though he's nowhere near the weight limit - not so with the Graco Nautilus! Not to mention the fact that this seat will see us through to adult lap-shoulder belt wearing with the awesome 100lb booster conversion.

This seat installs incredibly easy and tight into our mountaineer (exact seats as a ford explorer), the weight of the seat while hefty to carry about helps with the great install.

I never realized how hard strap adjustments were in previous carseats we had owned until we bought the Nautilus - a simple one handed pull and it's tightened perfectly - no back and forth pulling with two hands to loosen or worse foot digging in the vehicles seat to tighten ( ala Evenflo carseats).

Buy this seat if you want a very well made, easy to install and comfortable seat!

We needed to upgrade our infant rear-facing car seat and wanted something that would grow with us. In that sense, this car seat is great as it should take us right through the booster seat stage. The seat is super sturdy and my daughter looks quite comfortable in it - once I get her in! It took me a few times to get it all working, although now that it is, it's fine. However, the seat buckle that goes between her legs is WAY too far back (even after bringing it forward to the last slot). I need to search for it even if I lay it flat before I put her in. Right now she seems fine but I wonder how comfortable it will be in a year (she's a pretty average 18 months). I like the versatility, the large head rest and the cup holder/side pockets. If it weren't for the middle buckle, I'd give it 5 stars.
