Comments about Lovin' Hug Infant Swing - Townsend:

I bought this product from a friend. Her baby didn't like it at all, so it had been used only a handful of times. It was working at her house but wasn't working after I brought it home. When I called Graco, they sent a new motor at no charge because it was still covered under the one year warranty. The swing still didn't work with the replacement part, so I called them again and they sent another that did work. The customer service rep told me that, if it hadn't worked, we would need to send the entire swing back at our expense to be replaced and they couldn't guarantee that the fabric pattern would be the same.

We have been using it ever since we received the working motor (about four months) with no problems, but I think it says a lot that the original swing motor and the first brand-new replacement motor were faulty. If you search reviews for this swing on the web, you will find that this is a very, very common problem.

The fabric isn't very soft but the cover is easy to remove and clean.

The music isn't anything special but there are a lot of songs so you don't get sick of them as quickly as other toys that only loop a few different tunes. The nature sounds didn't do anything for my baby and they could be named static, static with birds, and static with different birds.

The tray is more or less useless because it doesn't sit level when the swing is off. You can put toys on it, but my daughter does just as well with toys in her lap. Whatever you do, though, don't lose it because the sticker with the information you need to order the replacement motor is on the bottom of the tray.

The mobile is too high for a newborn to see easily and too boring for an older baby. You can't push it out of the way because, as the swing moves, it gradually rotates back to the front. We took this off completely because it was annoying and didn't help entertain our baby at all.

Despite all the negative points, our baby is almost six months old and is still content to spend time in this swing. We move it quite a bit from room to room and it is showing no signs of wear or damage, and we are still just on our second set of batteries.

If you're able to find this second hand and you can be sure it is still under warranty, it is a comfortable and effective swing. If you're buying new, though, spend your money on something better.

My baby is 4 months old and has loved this swing since day 1! She is in it right now and she sleeps in it, plays in it and watches Baby Einstein in it and is always happy! It holds more weight than most swings so that is why I chose it. Have loved it ever since!

Comments about Lovin' Hug Infant Swing - Townsend:

I received this swing at my baby shower. It broke within the first two weeks of use. We replaced the batteries, re-assembled the whole swing, [...]. The five-point harness is useless--nearly impossible to use. We ended up getting a hand-me-down Fisher-Price Aquarium swing from our in-laws. It's over 3 years old but works like a charm. The safety harness is much easier to use, and it doesn't break!! I thought maybe my experience was unusual, but then a close friend had an identical experience with her Graco swing--it just suddenly stopped working, no matter what she did to fix it. I told her to get a Fisher-Price swing and she adores it. Save your money. DO NOT BUY THIS SWING.
