After purchasing this product, we tried to fit our Graco ComfortSport car seat to it, without success.

There was no way it was designed to accomodate that brand, despite it saying it does.

Check the installation prior to travel, to save any headaches.

I never write reviews, but feel compelled to do so after struggling for over an hour to set up our Safety 1st All in One car seat for our trip tomorrow. Turns out the Safety 1st All in One car seat have to have their bottom pieces removed in order to work with the Travelmate. However, new models of the All in One, and particularly the Alpha Omega All in One, do NOT have removable bases!! How confusing!! What a waste of time! Luckily we have a second (bulkier, heavier) Britax car seat that was quite easy to set up so in the end it all worked out. The product seems sturdy and safe and it definitely is worth it to get this newer model with the detachable wheels -- and the diapers.com price was better than [@]! gogo Kidz, please do your customers a HUGE favor and clearly state that this product does not work with the Alpha Omega!!

We have travelled extensively with DD and this has been a life saver. I always insist that she be buckled into her car seat on the airplane so this is a great way to get her and the carseat through the airport. It takes some practice getting it adjusted correctly (never over-tighten the strap or you'll have a bear of a time getting it off). It doesn't fit down the aisle of some airplanes so I usually remove it in the jetway.

Very helpful in the airport but more difficult in the plane. The wheels wouldn't fit down the aisle so my husband had to carry it down the aisle with the car seat attached. It wouldn't fit in the over head bin in a smaller plane without taking the wheels off. I loved using it in the airport-terminal to terminal and checking in!! My 15 month old loved being wheeled around in it.

Had to travel alone with my 1-year-old; this item made the trip 100x easier! I checked my luggage and rolled through the airport with my son, his carseat and a carry-on. If you've never used it before, practice at home first. However, I gate-checked my seat with the dolly attached. There were no problems and it stayed attached through the flight.

Aside from practicing the install and dismount, my son had to get a used to being almost horizontal. But, if you're going to travel with your car seat, this is the only way to go!

I've used this product multiple times when traveling with my toddler (she goes back and forth with me when I have business trips that take us near Grandma and Grandpa!). It is wonderful. She can either ride in it through the airport, or she can walk with me, and I can load it up with all of the other travel paraphernelia that you end up lugging along. My only complaint (which isn't actuallly with the product itself) is that airport security *usually* makes you take this off your carseat to get through. Again, that's not an issue with the product. Just be aware that it may take you a little longer to get through airport security when using this. You also have to remove it when strapping your convertible carseat into the plane. Just be aware.

If you are a traveler with toddlers this is a MUST!! I'm a single mom who occasionally travels via air and not only did my lil girl love the 'ride' chilling in the car seat thru the airport but I had soooo many folks stopping and asking me where I got this gadget. Comments I also heard, "Wish they had that thing when my kids were smaller"
Only cons, I suggest you do some practice runs by attaching to car seat and placing child in it. Not something you want to figure out at the airport curb. Also, when not attached to car seat it does not stand upright when set up against a wall or object, will just roll away. The 2 "2 inch base" feet should extend a bit further out so it acts as a kickstand when not attached to the car seat.
Otherwise, well worth the money and will get plenty of use out of it. Once I checked my daughters car seat at the gate, I unstrapped it and stored it as my carry-on (could've kept attached and checked it with car seat but didn't wanna run the risk of handlers breaking it).

The must have travel tool. My daughter loved it, she actually wanted to sit in it. once on the plane the transfer of the carseat to the airplane seat it so simple she slept through it. Only downside is it is hard to get down airplane isle

I am a frequent traveler and prefer to travel with my 2 year old son whenever possible. Even though this product is pricey, it did pay for itself within one trip. The average cost to rent a car seat is $10/day, so in a 7 to 10 day trip where you car seat doubles as a stroller, it's a good buy.

I would highly recommend setting it up and playing with it and your specific car seat before the day of your trip. We did have to take the electric drill to it, to insure that it was set up properly. It also took a few times of me hooking and unhooking the car seat to insure I installed the car seat correctly each time.

Once installed and in the airport, it was great to get us from gate to gate, from luggage to rental car, etc. I wish I had bought it sooner, since I do travel so much, but can guarantee that we will use it again and again.

I also had no problems with it going through security, I either had to remove the seat or else the security agents 'wanded it', as suggested in the instructions. Lastly, I chose to check the entire stroller/car seat plane side, so that I didn't have to take the car seat off inside the plane each time, this definiately saved me time between flights.

Overall, it is a good product, a bit pricey, but if you travel a lot, a good investment, as it is constructed well.

snaps onto car seat easily. made traveling with bulky britax car seat much easier. i would def recommend. wheels are solid. does not seem flimsy. high price point, but worth it.

I LOVE this product and don't fly without it. I fly twice a month and this is a MUST on my travel list. I am cheap, cheap, cheap with baby products and this is worth every penny. My son hit "gold" status with our air miles at 18 months--that is how often we fly with him.

To those moms who are saying it took forever to unscrew, you are doing it wrong. You don't unscrew it at all--what are you thinking?? No wonder you hate it if you are trying to unscrew it! Reading the directions helps--you just pinch the clip on the side strap and it comes off in about two seconds.

I bought this to use for our first plane trip to Europe. I used it today to transport the car seat to the car. We live in the city and rent cars when we need. It's easy to steer and easy to take on and off the carseat. The Britax Boulevard fits perfectly. It was easy to put together and easy to take apart. Even the wheels are ok remove. I was worried after reading some reviews and was pleasantly surprised how easy it is. The product quality is good and it seems quite durable. The trolley is made out of plastic with metal handles. No complaints here!

Just used this product for the first time flying solo with my 13 month old on a 2 hour flight. When I first got the product, I noticed that it was manufactured in January 2010, which meant it's the new model with the strap - very important. Not the easiest product to put together and I would expect better quality from a [$] item, but it does the job. Definitely was convenient to have traveling through the airport with my Britax car seat. I didn't have enough hands to carry the car seat and push a stroller, so I checked the stroller and just took this. Going through security, my car seat itself was too large to fit through the conveyor, so I left it attached and they wanded it down - no problem. Strapped my son back in and off we went. Rolled the car seat right onto the plane and left it attached when I put the car seat into the seat. Then easily popped it off, stowed it under the seat in front of me and just as easily popped it back on before we deplaned. When traveling alone, this definitely made my life easier. Plus, my little guy got a great view of everyone in the airport, which kept him happy and entertained. I will admit it's a bit costly, but I will definitely be using this product again and again, so the convenience factor is worth it to me.
