They were not any better then regular underwear for a child. They had some padding but whats the point of that when it leaks just the same as underwear.

Comments about Gerber Training Pants - Boy:

I'm happy I purchased this item but definitely don't purchase thinking that they contain a mess. We've put our son in regular undies too & it seems like these leak just as much as those. They have a very thin layer of padding (almost feels like poly-fil) in crotch area and when they say it contains small leaks, they mean very very small, like a dribble. They are comfortable for him, however, but I think I'll use them more when he's potty trained a bit more. I did buy a different brand at the same time as these, they were the 2nd cheapest & they're twice as thick & do contain messes, if you're looking for something better but still not $10/pair.

Perfect for potty training. Child gets wet when they have an accident but it doesn't make it all the way through to the floor.

Comments about Gerber Training Pants - Boy:

Bought for my 18 month old son who I am introducing to the basics of potty training. He lets me know when his pants are wet, only leaks with large amounts of urine. He also loves to wear them and fights the diaper! Holds up well in the wash!

My son has been wearing these since he was 18 months old. We just now bought more only because he is ready for a new size. They are super soft and comfortable. They are absorbant and usually contain any accidents until he can get to the potty. These gerber underwear have well outlasted regular children's underwear even with heavy washing with hot water and occassional bleach.

as advertised: will hold small accidents

Comments about Gerber Training Pants - Boy:

We have just switched from cloth diapers to trainers. We use these when we are with our son and can change him quickly. We mostly use them at home, with just a t-shirt.

We use a thicker trainer when we'll be out, when our son has tired of hasty changes, or when a relative is watching him. When he wets the thicker trainer, we sometimes don't know right away. With the Gerber, there's no mistaking it. When it's a full wetting, the pee soaks all he way through onto everything else. We like to give Grandma a break and put him in something thicker if she's watching him.

When our son is able to stay dry regularly for long periods, these trainers will absorb smaller accidents so he can finish in the toilet, and will have to change only underpants.

If you use these to absorb full wettings, "yr doin' it wrong," and will be disappointed. Do not use these for naps or nighttime unless your LO is consistently dry at those times.

The 18-mo. size is hard to find, even online. If you see it here, grab it!

These dry easily. They are not waterproof, so you can pre-treat and use stain removers as you like. Good luck potty training!
