These bottles/nipples were about the 5th type that we used with our now 10 week old son. He was breastfeeding and bottle feeding and we used every bottle which stated easy to switch between, all of the well known brands we have tried, fed up I picked these up a the grocers one day and they are wonderful, my so is so happy. I started with the med nipples and they were a bit fast but he has no problem with the slow. He is now exclusively bottle fed and does very well with these ones. I will say the nipple can collaspe if the lid is screwed on too tight but it isn't a problem for us a quick break and he is back at it.

Despite the other reviews saying these are the same as medium flow, I disagree wholeheartedly. My infant (6 months) daughter has been drinking from these nipples since coming home from the hospital and the result is a baby who eats like a lady and rarely spits up. I tried the medium flow nipples of the same type ONCE when she was about three months old and she was both shocked and overwhelmed by the speed of the flow. I went right back to the slow flow and she was and remains much happier.

Also, please don't blame your child's need for braces on the nipples. MOST kids need orthodontic care at one time or another in their lives and they don't all use ortho nippes as babies...

my daughter liked nuk bottle so I get the same for my son, However, he doesn't like it at all. It runs very fast as a medium flow so I got slow flow and remains the same as above. I give up with this bottle.

Unfortunately, these nipples are not at all slow flow; breastmilk and formula practically stream out of them. NOT recommended for newborns. The Evenflo Purely Comfi nipples are much better, minimizes air intake somehow, and cost considerably less. I will try these nipples again when my son is older, but be forewarned that they are not as advertised.

I like this product because it is helpful when you choose to breast feed as well as bottle feed. The unique shape makes it a little harder for the milk to come out, which seems to help prevent bottle preference. It also seems to help with slow our son down. I recommend slow flow in newborns.

This nipple is the same as every other nipple. I used these for my baby in 1996 and again in 2001 b/c they were touted as orthodontic. Well, I think they mean that by using this nipple, you will NEED orthodontic care. Both kids are in pre-braces as well as braces. Not blaming the nipple necessarily, but don't believe that it will give your kids a great shaped mouth or braces free teeth. What a lark!
