I think my son at 9months was still just too young for such large fast flow nipple. I only give my children a bottle until 12 months so we would not have a use for these but for parents who give their children a bottle until 24 months or later they would probably be great.

I prefer the older version of the Nuk orthodontic nipples. I use these because I don't have a choice since they discontinued the other ones, but I really LOVE the older version better than these. These tend to collapse when he is drinking milk so I am constantly having to pull the bottle out of his mouth to let the shape of the nipple go back to normal.

Also, these nipples only work with their Nuk orthodontic bottles whereas before they used to work with any standard bottle. I don't mind this, but prefer the convenience of having that as an option.

I would recommend these to a friend because I would rather use orthodontic nipples vs. non-orthodontic ones, but I like the older version better and if you can find those in the speed you want, go with those. For fast flow, they are out everywhere. For slow and medium flow, you can get them still on diapers.com.
