      Good step down from Nutramigen

      By Alex's Mommy

      from Phoenix, AZ

      About Me First Time Parent

      Pros

        Cons

        • Doesn't Mix Well

        Best Uses

        • Infants

Comments about Soothe Powder - 23.2 oz:

Our baby was on Nutramigen from the age of 2 months to 6 months. We decided to try this product after seeing it on the shelves, and discussing it with our Pediatrician. I liked that, like Nutramigen, it is mostly corn and that it has a smaller percentage of lactose than standard dairy based formulas. We felt it was a good "stepping stone" to transition him from Nutramigen to non hypoallergenic formula.

We went slowly and we haven't seen any issues in the month we've been using it. Its nice becasue its more widely availalbe than Nutramigen and its SO MUCH LESS expensive!

My con is that it seems clumpier and requires more shaking to mix than the Nutramigen did...but that's it.

Hopefully, we will soon be able to transfer him to Gerber Good Start Orange Can - which is what is provided by his daycare center.

Less belly problems than on GS Gentle...

        By C & E

Comments about Soothe Powder - 23.2 oz:

We switched to GS Soothe because of a small colic issues. Within a few days we were using less gas drops and, although still fussy, less tummy troubles!

        Pro Probiotic

        By Spacegirl

        from Wisconsin

        Pros

        • Probiotic

        Cons

        • Corn main ingredient

        Best Uses

Comments about Soothe Powder - 23.2 oz:

Right now I am using this product along with drops of the same probiotic that's in this formula. My son had severe colicky symptoms and he has vastly improved. The only thing I don't like is that corn maltodextrine is the main ingredient. I like that Gerber milk based formulas use whey protein as the main ingredient. I hope to wean my child to Gerber Protect in a couple weeks. Otherwise my child is tolerating this formula well and will continue with it if a formula change does go well.
