Comments about flip Disposable Diaper Insert (18 Pk):

For the past 16 months, we have used a cloth diaper service to diaper our son (using standard disposables only when travleing). The service is now ending and we are unwilling to put in the time and effort to wash our own cloth diapers. The Huggies we use for traveling have a nasty habit of "exploding" the absorbant little gel pieces all over his bottom. So, the search for soft, absorbant disposable diapers without lots of chemicals began.I found these and am happy with them! We have only been using them a week, but I haven't had any trouble with leakage (even overnight). They seem quite soft. I have been using them with the dipaer covers we had been using with our cloth diapers ('Thirsties', gotten at [...], though probably available elsewhere), and it has worked pretty well. Sometimes the insert gets a little sqeezed together through the crotch and doesn't always offer good coverage for poops, so we have to clean the diaper covers a little more frequently than we did when we were using cloth. I find myself wondering if it would work better in the diaper cover designed to go with these inserts - perhaps at some point I'll try purchasing one to try...At any rate, we have been thrilled to find an insert that is comparable in price to the Huggies/Pampers we had been using but without all the chemicals and weird things that go into those other disposables. We'll see how much we use them while traveling (as opposed to a completely disposable kind) - there is still the potential mess of the diaper cover to deal with, but I'm more apt to use these for at least short jaunts away from home or for vacations where we'll have access to a washer to keep ourselves set with diaper covers! :-)

Comments about flip Disposable Diaper Insert (18 Pk):

When we started using cloth almost two years ago, we dove in headfirst and were totally gung-ho about using cloth 100% of the time.
....and then we came down with a terrible case of yeast :( After several months of sposies while trying to sanitize all of our cloth, we decided to try these disposable inserts to ease our way back into cloth. We are SO glad we got these!

We currently do not own any FLIP covers but we just lay these in our Bum Genius 4.0 covers and they work great. My daughter has a sensitive bum so I like that I can still use a diaper cream if needed (while with regular cloth you cannot use cream unless you have a liner).
One review mentioned that these are too big and stick out the front and back of the cover *You are supposed to fold the insert down to fit. This also helps absorbency*.

I do still use cloth inserts, but I like to keep these on hand if we're going out somewhere since I can just toss the insert and reuse the cover so long as it's not soiled.

Perfect product for part-time cloth diaperers and those just "dipping" their feet into cloth diapering!

Comments about flip Disposable Diaper Insert (18 Pk):

I tried this around the house first, just in case they didn't work. The inserts are so large that they completely stick out front and back of my daughters diaper. I feel like I am wasting more material than a normal diaper because it is so large. The pad was absorbent but so absorbent that it also went into the diaper cover, making her clothing wet as well. And that was just after about an hour or so of wear.

Comments about flip Disposable Diaper Insert (18 Pk):

My daughter had a diaper rash for a month. I tried every single diaper cream on the market...Desitin, A&D, Triple Paste, Cortison(steroid) and Lotrimin (Antifugal)...I slathered it on like the Doctor told me to..It looked almost like I had painted glue on her butt. But the rash just seemed to get worse over time and spread over her entire butt. I was getting desperate. I washed her butt every diaper change with water. Did about 3 baking soda baths a day. My baby used to sleep through the night without any problems. But she had diarrhea a couple times and then this horrible rash flared up and she would wake up EVERY SINGLE HOUR OF THE NIGHT.

After a month I was thinking of going to cloth diapers. But since I live in Manhattan with no washer dryer in my apartment, I tried the closest thing. I have tried other disposable inserts(like gDiapers), but this is THE BEST!!

First of all it is soooo soft...much much softer than gDiapers. Me and my husband were wowed by how soft it was.. Within one diaper change, the diaper rash was settling. I also put some alba silky corn starch just to make sure her bum was dry. But noticed she didn't even need that. My baby can sleep a full nights rest again!! (8pm to 7 am) This is truly a miracle product. I wish they could make it into a disposable diaper.

For now I use my disposable diaper instead of a cloth diaper and just change the insert. When she soils the outer disposable diaper..it just goes in the pail!

By the way, because the size of these inserts is so long..You have to fold it a little at one end or it will stick out of the diaper. "Nature Babycare Diapers"(size 4) actually fit the insert perfectly! (Nature Babycare Diapers made my babies worsened my baby's diaper rash because its sooo not absorbent..so now I just use it as a cover for these inserts!)

My 5 year old son still wets at night. The volume is commonly too much for a Pull-Up or even Huggies Overnights to handle. We had even tried double Pull-Ups, but I was still washing sheets several times weekly. So I tried the Flip insert inside a Pull-Up. It has prevented leaks nearly 100%. They are amazingly absorbant. Since they are so long, I fold it in thirds so there are 2 layers in the front and one layer down the center/underneath. (Don't know what I'd do for a girl....)I think we'll stick with this method until we conquer the night time wetting problem.

Comments about flip Disposable Diaper Insert (18 Pk):

We've just started cloth diapering because of the change that pampers made to their diapers. I was terrified at first because of all the horror stories my mom and many other mothers of her generation had given me. Thankfully CDing is VERY different now days. We really like how thin these are. The hardest change in cloth is the bulk. My daughter IS NOT a heavy wetter so we just don't need the bulk that most of the inserts have. I had read MANY reviews on the cottonbabies website (makers of flip and bumgenius, among MANY others) that said they work GREAT in the bumgenius, so I figured it was worth a shot. I ended up purchasing 6 packages because of how much we loved them. They slim down the "bulk" you normally find with cloth diapers, are eco safe, don't irritate my little ones bum, less expensive then regular disposables, I haven't had any leaks yet, and they are uncented. If you are trying to do the cloth diapering thing because of allergies like our family, you can also get biosoft liners to make cleaning up the "solid stuff" super easy and painless. We love them, but I MUST reiterate that my daughter is NOT a heavy wetter AT ALL. We keep a few in the diaper bag just in case we have an emergency when we're out and about. They work great in her bumgenius 3.0 AOI OS diapers! Good Luck!

Comments about flip Disposable Diaper Insert (18 Pk):

I have the Flip system from the day it came on the market. Love it. BUT these disposable inserts are way too skinny for the cover. While they are very absorbant, they don't fit well forcing me to use two at a time side by side! What a waste. HOWEVER, just found out that they are being redesigned to be wider for 2010. So, if the product listed here is the 2009 version, AVOID it (if possible) until the new wider ones come out.

Having said that, if you don't cloth diaper and you need to add extra absorbancy to your current disposable, these are awesome for that. Gave a bunch away to mommies who disposable diaper for long journeys and they love them. they are super thin and very absorbant. Also great for heavy night wetters as an extra layer
