My son never wore this hat because it wrinkled extensively and looked terrible after I ran it through the wash and dryer. I tried washing and drying it twice (the second time with no other items in the dryer), and it came out in wrinkles both times. It looked like someone wrapped it in a rubber band. Ironing it would not have been practical or remedied the wrinkles due to the shape of the hat. Plus, who has time to iron their baby's hat? So I never used it. The nylon/spandex version of this hat is much better. It is softer and washes well. I recommend that one.

This is the best sun hat ever. My son (age two) has been wearing his since he was 14 months. Its lightweight (so it doesn't annoy him), stays on his head, easy to clean, and soft. He wears it in the park, at festivals, on the beach and around town. It protects his whole face and the back of his neck as well. Everywhere we go people comment on how cute the hat is and what great sun coverage it gives him. I will buy no other sunhat brand for him for years to come. I'm just about to order him the next size up (he wore a large from 14-months to 26 months and is now ready for the xlarge). They do sell a nylon version if you want something that can get wet and dry faster, but i prefer the lightweight, easy to wash cotton. It gets wet when we go to the beach/pool, but dries very quickly in the sun.
