Comments about Starlight Papasan Cradle Swing:

My husband set it up and got it done pretty quickly. It probably would've taken me a while to do it. My daughter was fussy a lot during the first few months and this swing helped her calm down and take her naps. I'm glad it has music with it because more often then not, she wouldn't sleep unless I turned the music on. Personally, after a while I got really sick of the music even though there's a good number of tunes on it. We didn't really need the night and day sound effects because she didn't care for them. The swing IS noisy but the music has a volume adjustment so it can be drowned out for the baby. I don't like that it's bulky. My daughter is just under 7 months now and the swing still works great but she's been losing interest in it. We've also had to take off the canopy because she grabs at it. Overall I would recommend it to other parents.

Comments about Starlight Papasan Cradle Swing:

I was excited to get a cradle/swing. I was apprehensive, because with my first two kids I just had a swing that went back and forth, not side to side. I should have gone with my gut. This swing is very poorly made, very noisy, and only has one speed - turtle. I don't think it would soothe a dog.

Comments about Starlight Papasan Cradle Swing:

We had inherited a swing and it served its purpose except we found ourselves shaking the swing cradle style, which the baby seemed to like more. After seeing a similar swing at a friend's house, we looked at every single fisher price swing and decided on this one.Not only does it swing cradle style and head to toe, it plugs in and saves us on batteries. Also, this is the only swing that has 2 seat positions, which is important as the baby gets older and can sit up by themselves. The other Fisher Price swings only recline, and when the baby starts sitting themselves, it becomes dangerous. It also has several different switches, separate ones for the swing, the music and the mobile. It's not that easy to set up, but my husband took care of it. Once it's done, it's done, so it's just a hassle at the beginning. The one very minor complaint I have is that the mobile turns off by itself after several minutes. I'm sure that's meant to save on batteries in case the baby falls asleep or you don't notice to turn it off.We love this swing [...]

Comments about Starlight Papasan Cradle Swing:

My daughter has really enjoyed this swing. I bought it for her when she was about 1 month old to help with those times when she had trouble sleeping. She has slept soundly in it on nights when she could not sleep in her bed due to apparent gastric issues. The padding feels very soft and comfortable, but the design allows her to sleep in the swing with minimal danger of turning and getting her face buried in it. My daughter is a large baby, just shy of 10 lbs. at birth, so I can't speak to how this would work with smaller babes. I can say that the swing has accommodated her well as she has grown and it still works its magic on her at 3 months. I felt that the swinging action was a little aggressive at first and never went above the lowest setting, but she didn't seem to mind it at all. Now that she is heavier we go up to setting 2 and it gives her a gentle swing. There are plenty of notches left to go, so I expect to be able to use this for a good, long time. It is easy to convert from "cradle" to sitting position. We are just starting to use the more upright position now that she can hold her head up. It's not fully vertical, so it gives her the ability to look around and watch what's going on without requiring her to sit up too early. It's sort of a baby recliner. The mobile fascinates her, and she especially loves the lights. Used without the netting, the mobile will even project the moons and stars on the walls of a dark room. The many sound options are very nice, as I can put on the music during the day or use a more repetitive sound, such as birds, at night. It even has volume control. I particularly like the fact that there are some more unusual tunes, such as "White Coral Bells", so I don't get mind-numbed by "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" all day. I don't find the swing to be particularly noisy, and I now just seem to tune it out completely anyway. We use it in adaptor mode and I can't really envision a scenario in which I would use batteries as it has a large footprint and I wouldn't call it portable. I found the swing very easy to assemble and had it operational in about 15 minutes. It's a little bulky to move around the house and just fits through the doorway, but I've managed to do it while half asleep at 3 a.m. so it's not that difficult. Even 4 weeks post c-section I was able to move it, so I wouldn't say it's very heavy either. I have had to wash the cover once so far, and I washed it in cold water on the delicate cycle and air dried it. This method did not seem to cause any shrinkage and it fit back on the swing just fine. I do wish that I could purchase a second cover to put on while this one is drying, though. The toys can be removed from the mobile and washed as well, if necessary. The little star toys on the tray are not that exciting for my daughter at this age, but the rigid loops on which they slide are great for attaching other crib toys with c-clips. I can provide more variety this way than with a bunch of fixed toys, so I think it's actually better. As far as durability, we have some family members who insist on picking the baby up without stopping the swing, so they are sort of working against the motor. This drives me nuts, but so far it has had no ill effect on the operation of the swing. Overall, I think this is a great swing and I'm very happy with the purchase. The price was great too! I have since seen another color option (pink) available elsewhere, so that may be a possibility for those who don't like lavender.

Comments about Starlight Papasan Cradle Swing:

So I really tried to love this product. I bought for my son who is now two months old. He absolutely loves the mobile and the star light show it produces and he seems very comfortable in the swing. However, the motor makes a SCARY GROWLING SOUND that actually drowns out the music the swing plays. It scares my son when I first put him in the swing, but after a minute or two he quiets down and enjoys himself.I called Fisher Price and they told me that the motor is defective (apparently a common problem). They are sending me a new motor that will take 14 business days to arrive. I hope this fixes the problem...if not I plan to exchange it for another swing. It is a bit disappointing to have a defective product after paying [$]

Comments about Starlight Papasan Cradle Swing:

I really like the swing and it reminds me a lot of the Fisher Price Rainforest swing we had prior to this one. I love the mobile and the swing is even more exquisite looking at night. I absolutely loved the price of it.
The noise was a lot louder than I'm used to and I haven't used it with my baby as I still have three weeks to go. I am hoping with the weight of the baby the noise will quiet down and he won't mind. I also am not a fan of lavendar as I bought it thinking it was all pale blue but the lavendar parts will be mostly covered with a pad to keep it clean. The mobile is a true pale blue.
Overall you will love this swing.

Love that this swing swings in both directions. Had a front swinging swing with first baby and really like the side swing. Also, great for newborns and napping because the seat reclines all the way back into a laying position. Love the stars that light up onto the netting. No, the netting is not attached on the side and is easy to push out of the way. Swing is noisy, but so was my first one. After approximately one month of receiving swing the motor went out. [...]Swing is well worth the money.

I love this product! I read many reviews with mothers who always had to hold/sleep with their baby because they needed to be comforted at all times until they found this swing. I was one of those mothers as well, and this swing does do that job! It's the only thing she will sleep in other than with me holding her. I would always have to wait until my husband came home to do ANYTHING because I had my hands full, but with this, I have a lot more time to do things. It's a great product so far. I'm glad this version comes with an AC adapter because I use it so much. It's very easy to switch the swinging positions, you can even do it with baby still in the cradle. It's pretty easy to put together. It's the best purchase I've made for my baby so far!

i got this swing with my daughter and it was heaven sent!! my husband was deployed thru the pregnancy and first 8 months of her life, so it was me alone in germany...it was easy for me to put together 7 months pregnant. she used it everyday, she would take her naps in it and most nights would fall asleep in it first before i could put her in her crib. one of my friends even bought it for her son after he liked it better then the one she already had. she loved it and it kept her entertained while i could get the housework done. the color is more on the purple side then the blue side though i have no problem using it for our son who is due in 3 weeks...and the fact that it plugs in, is wonderful not having to go thru so many costly batteries....i would completely recommend this swing..in fact we bought it for my best friend for her second kid and he loved it also....great that it swings side to side...i never used the front to back, the side to side is more soothing to a baby, i believe!

Comments about Starlight Papasan Cradle Swing:

I am having my 2nd child in a few days. My husband and I set up this swing in 15 minutes. It is easy to set up, sturdy, pleasing to the eye, and the music is soothing sounding. Although the blue color is actually more purple-ish on the fabric, the plastic mobile and the stuffed animals for the mobile are truly light blue. I hope the baby likes it as much as I do!!
