The sound machine works just fine, and I liked the added bonus of a little book about baby's sleep habits. But the white noise is too high-pitched for my taste. I'm used to a different brand of sound machine with better quality sound. This will be going back. Too bad, because I liked the size of the thing and the built-in night light.

We got this when our baby was about 1 month old and starting to have trouble napping. He was very responsive to loud shushing in his ear to calm him, but we couldn't keep it up long enough for him to sleep.

This sound machine has been a lifesaver! Used in combination with swaddling and sometimes a pacifier, this machine keeps him asleep for hours! It's so small and easy to move around between rooms, since you never know where he'll prefer napping. At 2 months, he now knows that the sound means it's sleepy time and we are all more rested and happy. I also like that we can later use it as a small speaker for music but have not tried that yet.

This product is very helpful in creating a consistency for my grandson's napping. He knows if it is playing that he is there to sleep. The sounds are soothing and pleasant, the volume adjusts and the item itself is easy to place in the room without cluttering it up.

we bought this to use on vacation at my parents house. They have the TV up loud and the bedrooms are right next to it. This sound machine was awesome. I liked the heartbeat with natural sound in the back. It blocked out the other sounds so my 3 kids ages 6, 4 and 1 and myself could sleep. Also comes with a dim blue night light attached. So glad I bought it. Helped for a good night sleep on vacation.

Bought this along with the Graco sounds machine to see which was the one for us....neither. The Graco had nice sounds but was poorly designed, and this one was well put together with sounds that grated the nerves rather than soothed. Ended up with a Marpac brand Dohm machine which is soley white noise with two speed options and a two spinning adjustments that modify the fan noise to varying degrees...does just what we need it to do...muffles sound for baby while she is getting to sleep and for toddler when baby is awake and crying.

I had a very fussy baby and one day we just could not get her to stop crying. I decided to go to [@] to get the heartbeat bear that a friend had recommended. When I got to the sound machine section, I started worrying that the bear wouldn't work and decided to get one of each sound machine to make sure I found one that could calm her. I was desperate!!This one was the winner. The best thing about it is that the volume goes pretty high - some just aren't loud enough. We crank it and it drowns out other noises. It's also a clue to her that it's bedtime and really helps her fall asleep when we bring her in to her room. My husband goes up ahead of me and turns it on so that it doesn't startle her when we lay her down asleep or drowsy. Haven't tried the audio-in hookup, but that seems like a nice feature, too.
