Comments about Performance Carrier - Grey:

I really wish I saved the money and bought a different carrier. This one does not work well on my back. I feel it needs more support and the upper clip is so high that I find it difficult to put on. The infant insert made this carrier totally useless as it is basically a mini comforter and made my baby sweat and break out in heat rash. Now that he is older, I have tried it out without the insert and still find it too hot to use in the summer. The last time I used it my back was aching and both me and my little one were drenched in sweat by the time we got home. Maybe the other Ergos (non-performance style) have a little more breathing room but this one really doesn't work for me.

Comments about Performance Carrier - Grey:

I had tried the standard Ergo and really liked it. I was excited to see this new model, as I thought it would be just as comfy, but lighter weight. WRONG. The straps are so uncomfortable, not only are they not padded at all, but the underside has this netting that is really scratchy on the skin. I'm 5'4" and it's impossible to wear my 14 month old in the hip carry position because of the straps. Will return and buy the standard Ergo.

DEFINITELY DOESN'T FIT LIKE THE ORIGINAL ERGO!

I was very disappointed after trying the performance vs the original Ergo carrier. My son is 10 months old, around 90th percentile for height and weight, and fit perfectly and comfortably in the original ergo. I was so excited to purchase the performance carrier thinking it would fit just the same with just a lighter weight and more breathable fabric. It was SO uncomfortable for both him and me! Shoulder straps fit very awkward on me and above where the sleeping hood is stored is extra material that was jabbing into my son's neck making it hard for him to turn his head to the side to look out. I am returning the performance and sticking with the original! :)

Comments about Performance Carrier - Grey:

It fits my six month old perfectly. I had been using the baby bjorn since he was an infant but I started having back and neck pains. With his increase in weight I needed to find a better carrier. I love the Ergo baby. I can walk for miles in NYC and my back and neck are free from pain. Also with the performance carrier I am not rushing home to change both of us from being wet from sweat. With the Baby Bjorn we would both be wet after our walk. I wished I had gotten this carrier sooner.

I returned this one. I bought two Ergo's the original and this one. I am keeping the original. Its more padded and seems more comfy for my son who is 5 months now. I prefer the Baby Bjorn, but my hubby has back problems. The Ergo is much nicer on your back and he is a large man and fits the original Ergo just fine. My son likes it ok, he has fallen asleep in it several times. My son prefers the Baby Bjorn as he is active and likes seeing the world.

I haven't used this carrier yet, since our little boy isn't due for another month. But I tried on the carrier and love the mesh inner lining to keep cool, since we walk a lot. All of my friends who have is rave about how much their babies love the ergo.

Comments about Performance Carrier - Grey:

I have the Moby, Bjorn and this Ergo carrier. The Moby was good at first, but the Ergo is the best overall.

The Moby was terrific when my little guy was tiny. He came home from the hospital just over 5 lbs and it held him tight and close. It was a perfect remedy for fussiness. Now, the Ergo is much more secure. While the Ergo is not forward facing, there is plenty of room for the baby to look up and over the top.

The carrier is basically a belt and a flap with shoulder straps. You put the belt around your waist, hold the baby tummy to tummy and pull the straps over your shoulders, holding the baby in the flap. The belt holds the baby's weight on your hips. The shoulder straps are mostly for stability.

I do not recommend the Bjorn. It puts all the baby's weight on your shoulders. If you're like me, your shoulders have probably slumped forward from holding and cradling. It's also a pain to get on with lots of clips and straps. Looking out is over rated.

Unsure if this product is too big for me. I'm 5'5" and small framed. The hip belt when worn in the front position digs into my legs while climbing stairs or hiking uphill. I can't wear it any higher or it wouldn't be on my hip bones. The hip belt on the original carrier looks like it goes straight across instead of having the dip in it like the performance does and perhaps would fit me better?

Other than the hip belt digging into my legs its a comfortable product and easy to wear.

It is definitely lighter and easier to put on than the original Ergo, however...and it's a somewhat a big however....and it may be because I'm short (5'3").. but the straps cut into my neck when wearing a 16 lb baby on the front. This is the only problem. It hasn't stopped me from using it for shorter trips, however; I do hope this problem will go away when I switch from the front carry to the back carry position.

My 8 months old baby was getting too big for Baby Bjorn. It took me a few months to finally order Ergo baby because it's on expensive side. But the moment I tried Ergo baby I regretted not ordering it much sooner. Totally it's worth the money! Balboa Sling was a waste of money though.
I will give it 5 star if I can carry my baby facing out with it.
