          This is the best basic formula. We tried ALL the Similac that is offered on the market because my son had terrible gas. Then we went back to basics and have not turned back since...love this product.

            This is a great product. Our baby was supplemented with it for the first 3 months and now on it exclusively. I am giving it 4 stars only because of the price ($0.30/oz) and recommend to use it with 32 oz cans which are significantly cheaper ($0.21/oz).
            It is tasty and baby likes it. Causes no digestive problems. It is very convenient size - I keep it upstairs and feed it every morning and have it on the go (park, etc.) where I can't use big 32 oz can.
            We tried powder version with the intention to reduce cost (powder is $0.16/oz) but it tasted awful with horrible metallic taste - 3 adults were literally ready to throw up (I did opened second jar purchased separately just to make sure). I was shocked that reviews for powder were good. No way I will give my baby the powder version. And it is not that much cheaper anyway.
            Will be sticking with the cans!

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

              I have a six week old child who is on formula exclusively. I was purchasing the 32 ounce cans but thought I would try the 8 ounce cans for the convenience of the pop top lids. This little feature does not warrant the price lift over the 32 ounce can ($16 more).

              Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

                After 2 months of breast feeding I started to mix formula to my breast milk so my baby could get use to the taste and to see if it caused gas/stomach pains. I would say that it did cause some gas, but he's been on it for over 2 weeks, and I haven't used the gas drops in a week.. so i feel he's adjusted well to the formula after just 1 week. To me the taste is very similar to breast milk (hate to say that i tried it :) and he loves it. I feel that it doesn't stain his clothes at all, and he's never constipated.
                I love the convience of the pop top lids.
