I have a preemie with short gut and pregestimil is the only formula he can eat, my complaint is the I have to special order it and pay shipping, or drive 20 miles to a store that says they sell it. So I pay just as much in gas as I would for shipping. I wish it was sold in more stores. Otherwise, it is a great formula for short gut babies :) Free samples would be appreciated, I have so many hospital bills from my baby spending the first 3 months of his life in the NICU.

My son ended up needing this after we found out he has a rare liver disease and has trouble absorbing fats. At first he didn't take to it at all and almost refused to eat it. But he ended up getting used to it and he loves it now.

My grandson had a life threatening intestinal problem requiring surgery. Total parenteral nutrition was required for some months which kept him alive but also caused some liver problems as he could not be given any milk orally. When he could be fed breast milk he remained very jaundiced and did not gain weight as his liver could not deal with the long chain fatty acids in breast milk. When he was given pregestemil by the liver specialist he started to gain weight and he was no longer jaundiced. Pregestemil contains medium chain fatty acids which his liver could process.It saved his life. God bless whoever developed it.

When my son was 2 months old he was diagnosed with a severe milk protein allergy. His stomach lining was torn severely causing bloody diapers and lots of pain. We had tried nutramigen and aulimentum and many other kinds with no success. Finally after a few days in the hospital his doctor suggested this formula. After a week of using it he was a completely different baby! He started sleeping through the night, smiling, laughing and barely cries. It's been a lifesaver. The only thing I don't like about it is that it smells really bad and doesn't mix well unless its already warm water. It also can only be bought online, which I don't like. I wish it came in larger containers.

My lady found this at the pharmacy. We were trying to figure why she was projecting her formula and food. When she had only food, she didn't throw up. Reading the ingredients of every formula we saw, they had coconut oil. Since I am allergic to coconut, it made perfect sense. This was found by accident, but after 3 days on pregestimil, I was happy and she has been enjoying her bottle for the last 4 months now. Check your allergies for nuts, you'll be glad you did!

My daughter has acid reflux and couldn't keep anything down. They switched her from the GentleEase to Similac Soy Isomil then to the Pregestimil. She keeps it down, sleeps better and seems to eat better. But it's had me going all over Chicago to find it and it's EXPENSIVE!

Our son's GI doctor recommended this to us to supplement with breadtfeeding. He seems to tolerate it well.

My son is in the NICU and they put him on this formula. He likes it, and it has helped with the issues he was having. It does small a little funny, but that's not a problem. I have never seen it in a store, but can order it.

This was a great find for me at the time of my second childs birth. My first child had the same issue and at the time we could not find anything that would help him and ended up doing things the way of my grandmother. When my second child came along 5 yrs later and he had the same issue I scoured the stores and found this a a local grocer. It was wonderful and made me feel more confident in what I was able to provide for my son. He never had any issues and really loved the formula. I never had any issues with it staining or smelling. It smells like any of the other enfamil formulas. I really love this product and am greatful to whomever developed this.

first off I nursed until my son was 7months had to stop due to severe stomach problems, this formula smells better than others we had tryed, he would only drink 3-4ozs at first bc it was different but over all it seems to help him which means alot... the only problem we have is NO ONE IN OUR COUNTY OR NEAR US CARRY IT! So it was very hard to get we ended up ordering it monthly!

Ok so at first, then problems i encounted with my 2 month early baby girl such as a really bad reaction to the protein in cows mils not to mention from my breastmilk, they put her on this formula. It had a horrible smell but it did the job, her bleeding in the stool stoped ASAP. She has been on it ever since and now she is 2 months and a couple days, and the doctor has just changed her formula but i am sure its going back to preg. It an awesome formula all though it is very very hard to find and kinda expensive BUT it is def worth it!!!! *****

My son was born with Gastroschesis (intestinal birth defect)and breastmilk alone did not have enough calories to make him gain weight. Our doctor perscribed pregestimil and within days he was gaining weight! Thus is the closest you can get to breastmilk in a formula and is good for babies with sensitive tummies and digestive tracks. The only downside is hispoops are really runny/watery so you have to have good diapers in stock to keep you and baby happy.

My daughter lost 12 oz in the hospital (only weighed 5lb 12oz to begin with) so they supplemented my breast feeding with this (the 24 calorie one). She did ok with it in there but when she came home she was so gassy. Her peditrician switched to Alimentum which is basically the same thing just by Similac and she was like a new baby. Instead of crying and writhing in pain, she goes right back to sleep during night feedings. It is a little cheaper but still more than the other enfamil and similac formulas

I agree with the other writer that if you are looking for this hard to find product then it is something your child must have for health reasons. It has helped my child gain weight and is hopefully helping her absorb nutrients that she can't on her own.
