Comments about Nutramigen Powder with Enflora LGG - 19.8 oz:

I have 3 month old twins, a boy and girl. I wasnt able to nurse so started my kids on formula. My son is very colicky and had a hard time with a lot of other formulas, we tried 6 before we finally found nutramigen and thank god we did. It's the only formula that agrees with my son and the only one he can eat. He threw up many of the other formulas and unlike some competitors versions, this formula doesn't seem to be made of as many chemicals. For a colicky baby, this formula is a life saver.

This product was a lifesaver for my acid reflux baby with a possible milk and soy allergy. I highly recommend it. The only problem was that is tasted so bad that my dughter started to refuse it at 3 months. She is also on Zantac, so we have been able to switch to another formula. But again, this formula was a lifesaver.

Can't imagine not having it for my milk intolerant, colic and acid reflux newborn. After fighting every food while nursing for 4 months the switch to formula was seamless.
They only thing I really, really dislike is the price. HOLY COW is it expensive! However, we have a thriving amazing 7 month old daughter. For that, I would pay anything. (Dont get any ideas of raising the prices though)

My babies were breast fed, but I started using this product as a milk alternative at 13 months for my milk-allergic son (who is also allergic to soy and some other things). My allergist recommended this product as one he could probably tolerate without a reaction. He has been taking this well and I feel good that he is getting a little extra nutrition because his diet is somewhat limited due to the multiple allergies. I would never recommend formula over breast milk as this is far inferior, but as a milk alternative it is very useful. However, the diapers.com price is quite expensive. I can buy the value size can at a chain store near me for over $4 less.

At 1 month my daughter was diagnosed with Acid Reflux. We have tried several different types of formula (doctors request) and they all left her constipated and uncomfortable which resulted in her not wanting to eat. So after another trip to the doctor this is what they recommended next and it has done wonders. She is back to her normal self again. Yes it is one of the more expensive formulas and it smells bad but if that is what I have to deal with for my daughter to eat I am fine with that.

This product does smell bad, and tastes worse, but once I introduced it with the old formula, and slowly transferred over, it has really helped my baby. I will say I am a little disappointed by this price though. It's cheaper at both my local grocery store, and my [@] ... only by a dollar, but still!

Comments about Nutramigen Powder with Enflora LGG - 19.8 oz:

My LO was born five weeks early and we have been through five different formulas in the two months since her birth. We were sent home with NeoSure from the hospital but as soon as she started drinking more than 1oz at a feeding she got terribly constipated and would just shriek and would be doubled up with cramps. So then we tried Gentleease and it was better, at least she started having BMs again, but she still had just horrible gas cramps and would just cry and cry and cry. She would fight the bottle, but would be crying because of hunger. Then I started doing some research and decided to try a soy based formula and she did pretty well on the ProSoBee for about a month but she would still have terrible fits of gas pains, but at least she would shriek as much as before and had normal stool all the time. In the meantime we also have her on Zantac, give her Simethecone drops, tried gripe water, and put chamomile tea in her bottle - all recommendations from her doc. But still she has terrible pains and cries and fussed and screams if we put her on her back because the gas is so bad. So finally the doc mentioned that she might have a milk protein sensitivity and soy protein is also similar to milk protein and to try a lactose free formula. We tried Alimentum first just based off the reviews, but she spit up so badly from it and had horrible smelling diarrhea that smelled of burnt hair. We stopped it after one day and went back to the ProSoBee until she felt better and had normal stool again. So finally we tried the Nutramigen, and I was nervous because some people said their babies had trouble with the enflora, but so far this has been a godsend! I started with a 50/50 mixture with the ProSoBee to get her used to the taste and smell, although there isn't a huge jump in taste and smell from the soy formula IMHO. She is now almost on 100% Nutrimagen and we have seen such a huge improvement in her!! She is starting to sleep for much longer periods now! Is much easier to console, doesn't scream and fight the bottle when we feed her, has started to laugh and play and is just happier all around. I wish we had tried this sooner. BTW, some people have mentioned that this is hard to mix but I havent found that to be the case. I always put the water in first then the powder, and it also helps ton have slightly warmed water as warm water mixes easier anyway. I just wish it was more economical, or that they at least had those refillable tubs like the Gentlease.

The taste is so bad due to lactose free that my 7-month old just refused to drink it at all. I tried it only one day and gave up. I still don't know what I should do with the rest of the powder!

My newborn started out on Similac advance and couldn't keep it down, she'd just spit it right back up. So we switched her to Enfamil Gentlease which worked miracles on my son, but she just got constipated to the point where she would cry anytime she was getting ready to have a bowel movement. This was recommended to us and we decided to give it a try - within 36 hours she had a 'real' bowel movement! Now she's happy and feeling great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has tried other formulas with no success.
