Recommended for: Colic and cow's milk allergy

It's not uncommon for babies to experience colic due to cow's milk protein allergy. Sometimes a change in formula can make all the difference.

Nutramigen with Enflora LGG‡ is clinically proven to help manage colic* fast—often within 48 hours.† It has extensively broken down proteins that reduce allergen exposure. Nutramigen also has a probiotic to help support the strengthening of baby's intestinal barrier—while still providing the complete nutrition babies need to grow and develop.

Comments about Enfamil Nutramigen LIPIL with Enflora LGG - 19.8 oz - 4 pk:

My son has a eczema and this formula was recommended by another parent and his pediatrician. I can't say for sure if it's working since he is still suffering from skin rashes but it seems to be preventing additional flare-ups. Will keep him on it for a little longer and see what happens. Has a horrible smell but he seems to be drinking it up just fine (can't get enough of it):-) It may have helped that we mixed half and half of other formula at the beginning. Gave 4 stars due to high cost otherwise great product.

Comments about Enfamil Nutramigen LIPIL with Enflora LGG - 19.8 oz - 4 pk:

My 3rd baby suffered for 14 weeks with colic and severe discomfort. I tried 3 other "gentle" lactose-based formulas, but nothing helped. I finally made the switch to this hypo-allergenic formula, and IT WORKED! Within 2 days, my son's non-stop crying was replaced by endless giggles and baby babble. His tear-soaked and desperate eyes became sparkly and happy. And his rashy and irritated skin cleared up and took on that perfect baby smoothness and glow.

There is one "side effect" that occurred after a couple weeks of use, though. My son developed a severe diaper rash that needed an antibiotic cream for treatment. Turns out, the hypo-allergenic formula can be processed too quickly by the digestive tract for some infants, leading to extremely acidic and chronic bowel movements. It took about a week and a half for his digestive tract to right itself again, and no other issues have occurred since. While the diaper rash and diarrhea were another unpleasant thing for my son to experience, overall it paled in comparison to the colic.

My son is now 7 months old and is thriving. He is 50th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. Just recently, too, we have been able to start introducing milk-based products back into his diet, including yogurt and a mixture of the Nutramigen with a scoop of Enfamil Gentlease. He is tolerating everything perfectly, and it looks like he's on track to outgrow his milk protein sensitivity.

I'm just so grateful that Nutramigen was able to get my son through that very difficult stage, and I would urge any parent to give it a try if their son or daughter is experiencing extreme colic, skin rashes, etc.

My first son was allergic to normal formula and had food allergies to Dairy, egg & nuts. We had him use this until he turned 1 and then we switched him to Hemp milk. Because it worked so well for my first son with Allergies i just automatically put my second son on it. So we haven't had any issues at all.

Comments about Enfamil Nutramigen LIPIL with Enflora LGG - 19.8 oz - 4 pk:

We had to switch our 6-month-old daughter to Nutramigen after she broke out in hives 1-1/2 weeks after taking Enfamil milk-based infant formula (I had to supplement her breastfeeding with formula as she was not gaining enough weight). She didn't like the taste of Nutramigen at first, but has gotten used to it (it has been 2 weeks now), though she does not finish the bottle as quickly (and sometimes not at all) compared to the milk-based formula. My real complaint is that it doesn't mix as well (I can still see little bumps in the formula, no matter how hard or how long I shake the bottle). It also has an almost cheese-like smell. But there are no signs of any allergies, and she seems to be growing, so it must be working!
