Recommended for: Colic and cow's milk allergy

It's not uncommon for babies to experience colic due to cow's milk protein allergy. Sometimes a change in formula can make all the difference.

Nutramigen with Enflora LGG‡ is clinically proven to help manage colic* fast—often within 48 hours.† It has extensively broken down proteins that reduce allergen exposure. Comments about Enfamil Nutramigen Lipil Nutramigen with Enflora LGG Powder - 12.6 oz:

Our daughter went through a ream of cow's milk-based formula (Enfamil Infant and Newborn, Goodstart Gentle Plus) she had reflux and constipation and some light skin irritation.
Our pediatrician actually didn't recomend this formula because of the reflux (She wanted her put on enfamil AR or try a soy based formula) But something just told me to skip those (the AR would make my daughters painful constipation worse) and I am thrilled I did.
She has been on this formula a week, instead of her 6 hour screaming fits from her colic/reflux/constipation she is maybe fussy for 2 hours at night now and consolable.
It is worth the price, and if you shop around a bit you can find it less expensive in some areas.

If this formula helps but doesn't do the job there is another version of this formula "Nutramigen AA" its for a much more severe allergy to cow's milk protein.

      Good luck!

My daughter has severe food allergies, eczema and a TEF repair. She had gotten to the point that her allergies were so severe that her esophagus was swelling closed. This formula has definitely helped the internal allergic reaction, but her skin is still a mess.

Comments about Enfamil Nutramigen Lipil Nutramigen with Enflora LGG Powder - 12.6 oz:

We love this formula. Our baby had severe eczema to where his skin was oozing and cracked from the dryness. We tried everything to help him but I knew everything we were doing was only helping the problem for a little while. We weren't really fixing what was causing his eczema to flare up. We tried steroid creams, oils treatments, all day lubrication, warm heat humidifier, diet changes in breastmilk, soy milk formula, etc. You name it, we've done it. Everything helped his eczema temporarily but nothing ever made it completely go away. Everyone, including the doctors and dermatologists, kept telling me it wasn't diet related but my instinct told me different. I knew his little body was trying to fight something that it didn't agree with. I decided to try this formula after much research. Within one day of switching to this formula our baby's skin completely cleared up and he's soooo happy now. His itchiness doens't bother him and his skin always looks moisturized now; not dry and scaley. We still maintain a rigid regimen with his oil bath and daily moisturisation but I truly believe it's this formula that cleared him from the inside. Now we only use Nutramigen, breastmilk, and homeopathic creams (no steroid creams anymore) to keep his eczema under control.

When our little guy was diagnosed with milk intolerance at 5 weeks, our doctor put us on this. We were shocked that we had a completely different baby within 2 bottles. Then I read that it promises to reduce "colic" within 48 hours. Seriously, we went from a kid who was fussy all the time, to the happiest, calmest baby. Poor little guy just had a tummy ache for 5 weeks and this formula was the solution. His first taste he kinda made a face but kept on eating. Worth the cost for a happy, healthy baby!

Our son could not seem to tolerate milk-based formulas so we tried Nutramigen. It helped but did not completely solve the problem. So we mixed it with Neocate (1/2 & 1/2) The blend of the 2 formulas has been perfect for our son (yes pricey- but worth it). He has been sleeping 12 hours solid per night for many months & is very happy during the day. Clearly this combo agrees with him!

Tastes so bitter and smells like cheese-its..makes baby smell like cheese-its too. It is great if your baby really does have a problem with milk proteins or lactose, but if you're just trying to make a cranky baby less cranky it will probably just make things worse b/c taste is so bitter baby will likely refuse it or not eat as much as usual and be even more fussy

After trying different brands and types of formulas, this one is finally a keeper! It has reduced my little one's reflux and gassiness. He is much happier and loves the taste. The only negative is that his BM's are thin (almost like paint).

This formula definately helped reduce the Acid Reflux along with Pepcid. My son started refusing bottles around 3 1/2 months...I'm guessing from the taste but we switched him from ready feed to powder and along with solids he seems to be doing better. Still won't take more than 4 oz at a time, though and he's 5 mos. Definately worth the cost, though if it helps make him feel better!

This formula was the answer to our prayers. Our daughter had the WORST case of acid reflux (GER) our pediatrician had ever seen. In order to supplement the breastmilk we started her on ProSobee because she had an immediate intolerance for cow's milk. After about a month her ezcema became unbearable and she was constipated. We then switched to this formula and I stopped breastfeeding. It reduced her spitting up by more than 80%. Since being on this formula she has gained weight and thrived.

This was a wonderful solution for our family. Our son has a sensitivity to cow's milk protein which manifested as a facial rash. He never had tummy issues. We switched from Good Start (which we used for our older child) and the rash disappeared within days! Yes the smell is strong but you quickly adjust to it. I initially mixed both formula's (step down introduction) and my baby was able to switch from the sweeter one to this with no problem.

My daughter was born 10 weeks early and is now 3 months old. We've gone through 3 different formulas (Neosure, Gentlease, and a soy based forumula) before trying this one per our pediatrician's recommendation. Nutramigen has made a HUGE difference in my baby's behavior...she's less gassy and fussy and doesn't battle constipation anymore. She also has reflux and this forumla also seems to help that as well. I was hesitant to commit to this formula since reading other reviews about the enflora...and to be honest, I haven't seen any difference in my daughter's behavior with either of the formulations.

My baby is now 5 months and is allergic to cow milk. I tried 5 different types of formula. I tried the Nutramigen with the the Enflora and it made things worst for her. Finally I tried Nutramigen without the ENFLORA and it has been heaven. No more crying, gas, stomach pain and or diarrhea. She sleeps all night and so do my husband and I. Please keep Nutramigen without the ENFLORA available for the sake of my baby.

My wife and I experienced two months of hell with our new baby due to colic. My wife was breastfeeding and watching her diet, but for some reason the colic just kept comming back again and again. Within 2 days of switching to this, it was like meeting our baby for the first time. He was finally smiling and enjoying things for the first time in his life. The last month has been wonderful! We have tried twice to switch to other cheaper formulas for sensitive babies, both times with terrible results. We are sticking with this! I wish we knew then what we know now!
