Comments about Premium Infant Ready to Feed Formula - 32 oz - 6 pk:

The product is great, my 1 month old has no problems with it. My issue is that unlike the 32oz similac bottle, the 32oz Enfamil cans are not resealable. Unless you have enough bottles or milk storage containers to empty the entire can, it just seems unsanitary to me.

In my opinion best formula out there. My infant was on an organic powder formula when he was born and had terrible colic. The moment we swtiched to this it went away.

Comments about Premium Infant Ready to Feed Formula - 32 oz - 6 pk:

This is the best formula on the market. Enfamil was the first formula maker to include DHA in their formula. DHA is essential for brain and eye development. Liquid Enfamil consists of .32% DHA, which fully matches the worldwide average DHA content for human breast milk. Other formula makers have now started adding DHA too, but Similac (for example) contains only .15% DHA, which is less than half the amount found in human breast milk (and a level too low to truly be of great benefit to the baby, at least according to the scientific studies which have been done to date). Even store brands, such as [...] "Parent's Choice" contain about .20% DHA. Enfamil is the only brand of baby formula that has several scientific studies proving that babies who are fed exclusively with Enfamil will have the same weight, length, and intelligence as breast fed babies. The pre-mixed formula is best for baby, even though it is more expensive than the powdered and liquid concentrates. Most US water systems add fluoride, which helps to prevent dental decay in adults and children. However, the latest ADA guidelines recommend that fluoride *not* be given to newborns and infants. So, if you use the powdered formula, and your water system includes fluoride (as most do), then you really ought to be purchasing bottled water as well. Boiling will not remove fluoride, but rather it will only concentrates it, as the water evaporates but not the fluoride. Buying water in plastic bottles has its own problems, as various chemicals can leech from the plastic into the water.Enfamil pre-mixed formula is sold in metal cans, and it is made with water which has been highly purified at the Mead-Johnson factory, with all the fluoride and chlorine removed. The product is sterile in the can.As I said, this formula, in this form, is the best on the market. Period.* You can begin using fluoridated water to mix baby formula sometime between 6 months and 1 year. It's best to start gradually at first.** Similac includes .15% DHA in its formula, which matches the average DHA levels found in the breast milk of American women. However, the blood levels (and breast milk levels) of DHA in the United States are known to be the lowest levels in the world. The worldwide breast milk average for DHA is .32 percent. The lower levels in the US are thought to be due to the fact that the American diet includes insufficient levels of fatty fish, which is the primary natural source of DHA. When American take supplemental fish oil (or pure DHA capsules), the blood and breast milk levels of DHA gradually increase to the world average. Some pre-natal vitamins available by prescription now also contain a clear-gelatinous DHA capsule.*** Nestle "Good Start" also includes the full .32% average DHA found in human breast milk. I am unfamiliar with this brand.**** Meade-Johnson, the maker of Enfamil, has petitioned Health Canada to prevent formula makers from claiming health benefits for the DHA/ARA they add to their formulas, unless they add the *full* levels (.32%) that were used in the scientific subsides proving benefits.***** The European Union (EU) recently set a minimum standard for DHA in infant formulas. That minimum is .32%, the same average level found in human breast milk worldwide. So far North America (US and Canada) have not set minimum standards. This leaves formula makers free to add very small amounts of DHA (too small to be of real benefit) while still touting the health benefits of DHA on their labels and in their advertising.

My daughter has been thriving on this formula since she was 3 months old. I believe that the Enfamil products are superior to comparable brands. I liked that the Enfamil Premium did not smell as sweet and sugary as the other big brand that comes in the blue bottle...
We only use the ready to feed, as I believe that the powdered formulas have a tendency to constipate babies. I highly recommend this and the other formulas produced by Enfamil. The quality appears to be superior to that of other brands.

My daughter had a great deal of problems with various formulas shortly after birth. She was on Nutramigen for colic, which was also excellent, but at four months of age we sought to transition her over to Enfamil Premium due to the cost of the Nutramigen ready to feed. It was a successful transition. Elizabeth is still a happy, well fed baby. She has not experienced any problems what-so-ever (such as gas or constipation) and I do believe that this formula is superior in comparison to other brands at a comparable cost. Enfamil is the best and you get what you pay for.
