Comments about Apple + Ginger Baby Cookies:

I gave these to my son at 9 months and he looooved them from day 1. My son holds them and sucks on them until they start breaking down into mush. Even when he does get the whole thing into his mouth he just slides it right back out, or sucks it since its too big for him to swallow. At 7 months (the recommended start age for these) he would not have been able to, however, so I think you have to judge your own child's dexterity with food - my son is a pretty advanced eater by nature - at 10 months he refuses almost all mush and will only eat food he can pick up on his own and chew/gum. I can see how others would be afraid of their child choking on these if they have not mastered chewing/gumming, so I would not recommend them unless your child is already good with rice cakes or larger chunks of food.

If your child is a good candidate for them, though, I think they are ideal teething biscuits - soft enough to dissolve, hard enough to help their gums, they don't taste half bad even to me - and a huge plus: these are the only ones I can find with no sugar or cane juice in them.

My 18 month old loves these. Always asks for more. They are firm yet not crunchy so they don't make a huge mess if he has one as a snack in the car. They travel well and are individually wrapped, which makes them great to stash in my bag.

Comments about Apple + Ginger Baby Cookies:

THis cookie has scared me twice with my 8 month old son.
The cookie seems to sit inside his mouth, where he can't figure out what to do. It doesn't dissolve and is the perfect storm for choking. I have had to finger sweep.

I have used other brand cookies without this happening and feel much safer.

Maybe a better "cookie" for toddlers

Comments about Apple + Ginger Baby Cookies:

I really wanted these cookies to work out for my son. He is 10 months old, teething, and loves to eat. I figured the biscuits would be great for his teeth but not worrisome for me as they said they are soft enough to melt in baby's mouths. We have other cookies, puffs, etc that he eats but I wanted to try something different.

                    PROS:
                    - Slowly dissolves/crumbles
                    - Soft yet stands up to little teeth
                    - Pretty good tasting
                    - Easy to hold in hands

                    CONS:
                    - Takes a while to dissolves/crumble (my son kept biting/sucking on it but couldn't get a safe mouthfull)- didn't get the "melt in your mouth" as product stated
                    - Just the right size to fit WHOLE into my son's mouth (if I wasn't watching him try this cookie for the first time he would have choked)
                    - Biscuit is 1 - 1.5 inches long
*The downside of the biscuit taking so long to dissolve and the small size of the biscuit lead to a perfect combination of my son shoving it WHOLE into his mouth thus leading him to choke on it.*

He is exuberant and does everything fast from eating, playing, crawling, etc but he has never taken any of his typical cookies and try to shove it down his throat. His other cookies dissolve nicely and I don't have to worry about them being a choking hazard.

I would recommend this product to others due to my experience.
