Comments about Extra Tall Auto Close Gate w/Extensions- Black:

my husband and i bought this gate for the purpose of our 7 months old toy poodle mix puppy. he can jump very high and were looking for a gate tall enough. we've been looking around, but couldn't find any gate at the height we wanted. this gate is the perfect height. it was easy to put together, in which, was not much to do. we are very satisfied with this product.

Comments about Extra Tall Auto Close Gate w/Extensions- Black:

We have an open floor plan house and have used a cheap "baby gate" for years between our bedroom doorway (sans actual door) and our kitchen to keep the dogs away from food prep areas. I'm 6 months pregnant now and stepping over the gate constantly was getting dangerous so we decided to get something with a swinging gate that was taller. We got this a week ago and so far I love it. It's attractive and tall enough that one of our fatter cats can't jump over it which was an added bonus. Now he doesn't try to sleep in the bed with us. I feel confident that it will stand up to a two year old running full speed at it as our medium sized dog can jump on it and it doesn't budge. The only thing that concerns me is that the locking mechanism is plastic. The rest of the gate is metal! Why would they make the one piece that is going to get the most abuse PLASTIC? We'll see how well it holds up but if it lasts two years I'll be satisfied. Oh, also, it takes some getting used to opening the gate if you don't have a hand free, as in it may be impossible since you have to slide the button over then lift the gate slightly to release the bottom portion of the gate. I'm working on perfecting my toe coordination in hopes that it'll be easier when the baby comes as I anticipate having my hands full more often!
