We have Safety 1st, MyFirstYear, and North States gates to use as comparison. This gate is my least favorite. It is the hardest to operate. The button is hard to slide or move and is of cheap plastic. It is less obvious to new users, as well. The extensions were nice. It works and looks attractive, but I would go with another brand.

Honestly, this is the best purchase next to the Summer Infant Monitor. I read in other reviews that some people could not walk comfortably thru the gate. I really don't understand how someone might not be able to walk thru. Its strong and I have no worries that my three year old will leave his room and wander the house at night. This is the gate you are looking for- I highly recommend it

Love this gate. Just what I needed to keep my 72 pound dog in the family room. I am a 55 year old grandmother and had no problem puting it toghter/up. I got the 42 inch high gate and it's perfect. I have an infant grandson and I'm sure it will come in handy later. No holes to my frame and super easy to put up and take down. And I love to open and close the gate with one hand.

This gate is very sturdy and I love the auto shut feature. Over time, the repeated slamming of the gate will cause it to shift. So if you are strictly using the pressure fit function, you will have to adjust it frequently. If you think you are going to leave the gate up for an extended time, just us the mounting cups.

We originally bought this to keep our dog in our room at night so we could keep the door open and not have him roam around the house. It works perfectly. Baby is on the way so we will surely come up with more uses. Very easy to assemble. Great height (DH is 6'6" and I am 5'9"). We like that the gate is not permanent (i.e. no drilling into the door frame) because it is tension mounted. We have not had to use the extensions yet so unsure of how those will work.
