I purchased two of these gates about 4 months ago. I read over a dozen reviews on gates and this one seemed to be a quality and affordable choice. I bought one Swing Closed Security Gate and the Hallway Gate. The Swing Closed Security Gate Combo Pack came with 2 extensions which I was able to use on the hallway gate to make it fit the space. I've been very happy with the gates and I'm back purchasing another for another doorway in my home. My son is 15 months now and has no idea how to get the gate open. He will yank on it and try to climb it and it doesn't budge. The gate is gentle on the walls and baseboards which was also a concern for me as we had just had our entire home painted.

The only thing that I would change with the gate is to add a feature so that you could prop the door open. At night we have to prop the gate open with an object like a toy or shoe so that our dogs have access to the dog door to use the bathroom.

I had this gate completely installed in about two minutes, it's awesome! The mechanism is child proof but still easy to use one handed as an adult.

I have a year old daughter and use this at the entrance to her playroom. It stands up to her leaning on it with no problem and we use installed it as exclusively pressure mounted.

I bought this to replace another brand of gate which was so complicated to install we gave up and returned it--I'm so glad we did! Oh, it also has a nice self closing feature so it gently swings itself shut behind you and it opens in either direction no matter how you mount it, both convenient features.
