      • Dr Brown's Wide Neck Bottles

Dr Brown's Wide Neck Bottles are created with a unique two-piece internal vent mechanism for vacuum-free feedings. This is also known as positive pressure flow feeding, similar to breastfeeding. During feeds, air is channeled from the teat collar through the vent system to the back of the bottle. The air circumvents the breast milk or formula and minimizes oxidation. In addition, the essential nutrients of the feed like vitamins A, C and E are preserved. As babies don't have to fight the discomfort of ingesting air bubbles, feeds are longer and easier.

Why You'll Love It: This bottle helps significantly reduce gas, colic and spit-ups.

Comments about Wide Neck Bottle - 8 oz - 3 pk:

I've been using this product for 7 months now. My baby is a big eater so I started using the 8 oz bottles early on. It's so annoying that they leak. I warm the bottles in a measuring cup of hot water. You have to loosen the top before putting into the hot water or A LOT leaks out. I'm talking ounces. But they also leak sometimes when I am feeding my LO. I've tried unscrewing and re-screwing the lids on, etc but they leak all over the place. I use a large towel under his chin to minimize the milk getting all over his sleep sack and stinking. It's unfortunate because I do like the wide mouth. They are easy to clean. I also don't want to spend any more money on bottles so I'm just going to suck it up and wipe up leaked milk.

Comments about Wide Neck Bottle - 8 oz - 3 pk:

I did not want to buy them first, thought it would be a lot of work to wash these bottles. Truth being told - it takes me five minutes to wash six bottles with all their pieces (fill the kitchen sink with water and soap, put everything there for a few minutes, wash using brushes and rinse). I also own a sterilizer from Dr. Brown's line and it saves me a lot of time - 5 minutes in microvave and four bottles are ready to use.
Plus, I do not know for sure, but these bottles and Enfamil Gentlease and Similac Sensitive (use both), helped my baby to feel better.

I tried the original bottles and loved how they reduced gas and spit up. I wanted a wider nipple and decided to try the wide neck bottles. My little one loved the nipples. I thought we had found a good fit but about a week later they began leaking dripping milk all down my baby's neck. Seriously frustrated, I tried everything from warming techniques to switching tops. No use. They leak!

These are SO worth washing the parts, my little guy had bad gas and reflux problems. I resisted buying them because I was afraid of the reviews that said the parts are hard to clean. You just clean them because it makes your child feel better all day. I was amazed at the difference.

They do leak occasionally but what I find most frustrating is that the labels are not painted thus it's difficult to tell how much you're putting in. Would it kill the company to paint on the ounce #'s in addition to their "Dr Browns" label?

These bottles are so frustrating! I have to be extra careful when traveling because the Dr. Brown's bottles have to be upright at all times. If not they leak all over and once that happens you can't just wipe the side...they just continue to seep milk. Also, when heating the bottles I have to take the top off because if not the tube in the middle will suction up the milk and make it leak out the sides. Save yourself the mess and don't go with Dr.Brown's. I am really happy with my BornFree bottles because I never have any of these problems and they seem to be of better quality.

I was so excited to use these because I love Dr. Browns bottles and only use them. However, the wide neck ones leak. I tried a million different techniques but each time I ended up with frustrating leaks. The regular ones are fantastic but unfortunately we cant use the wider nipple with those which my son loves.
I do NOT recommend this size.

I have been using these bottles for almost 4 months at least once daily since I still breastfeed. I know what some are talking about when they say they leak in the bottle warmer but I simply remove the lid before warming and it is not an issue. I think the warmth forces the milk up the straw and out the holes that let air escape. Since I breastfeed still I like the wide nipple much better than the traditional nipple. I would totally recommend to anyone.

I really wanted these bottles because they weren't as tall as other 8 oz. bottles. Additionally, they came with wide neck nipples, which my son loves because they are closer to the size of my breast.

However, these bottles leak from the top and the bottom. There are times when milk leaks from the screw on top, although I must admit that this was rare. What was unexpected was leakage from the bottom. I put a 6 oz. bottle in my bottle warmer and turned it on. When the warming was done, I got 5 oz. left in the bottle.

I thought that it was just the bottle warmer so I tried the bottles again. This time, I put the 6 oz. bottle in a bowl in the sink and let hot water run over it. Again, I came out with 5 oz.

Any mother who breastfeeds knows how precious breastmilk is. After the second incident I went straight out and got another brand to try. I was especially disappointed because these bottles were perfect other than the leaking.

I breastfeed and also supplement with formula. I've tried all bottles available and my little guy did the best on these wide mouth Dr Brown bottles. I also bought the original Dr Brown bottles and don't like them as much - he seems to put the whole nipple in his mouth and ends up choking while he's feeding. That doesn't happen with the wide mouth bottles. I LOVE these!

I love the Dr. Brown's bottles. These wide-neck bottles don't tip over as easily as the original Dr. Brown's and they still fit in my Avent bottle warmer.
