I have two of these carseats, one for my 5 year old and one for my two year old. They have been wonderful seats and I have never had a problem. Yes they are heavy, but they are protecting our most precious children so that I don't mind at all. Last week I was in a car accident, a truck hit me (on my side along with my 2yr old daughter) totaling my car - a trailblazer! Needless to say I need a new car but this carseat has done it's job, protected my daughter she wasn't hurt at all!!! Other than her being scared to ride in a car right now she is great. This carseat has surpassed all expectations and I will be purchasing two news to replace mine, not even thinking twice about it. I would recommend this carseat to everyone.

I have used Britax Marathons for years with my two girls. I love those seats, but we recently sold our Yukon for a Chevrolet Equinox. It gets much better gas mileage but is considerably smaller. There was no way to fit both our seats and another person in the back seat so we got two Radians. It is a little tight, but with both Radians in the back seat a third person or third car seat will fit. I like the fact that is converts to a booster when we are ready. I will say I have owned several car seats over the years and these were by far the hardest to install. I think this was in part to the short tether strap adjustment and the fact that our read headrests are unmoveable. We also have some generic seat protectors that we have used under all our other seats. We had to get rid of those in order to get a good fit for the seats. Both my girls are comfortable in these seats and like how low they are compared to the Britax.
Overall, if you have the room, I still beleive the Britax Marathon is a better seat, but if you need space this is still a good solid seat. It does have several similar features of the Britax. I miss the ease of use for adjusting the straps on the Britax. Both my children are forward facing, so I cannot speak to the rear facing options for this seat. I would recommend this seat to anyone with more than one car seat in the car and/or who drive small and midsize vehicles.

I bought this because I have the Sunshine Radian for my 2 year old. It's basically the same, but now a different company name and a little easier to adjust the height of the arm straps. It is a heavy seat, but very sturday and makes me feel that my kids are very safe it in. They seem comfortabale. It was a little hard/confusing to install with the latch system, but I think most of the car seats have confusing instructions on how to install and don't feel this one was any worse. The nice thing is that it's narrow enough that when we have 2 of these seats in the back, an adult could sit in the middle seat between them relatively comfortably. It is a little high, so when you use it rear facing, depending on your car, it may not fit (due to the front seat), so I would check to see if it fits before buying. We have a Mercury Mariner and it works fine rear facing on the passenger side, but a tight fit on the driver's side for taller drivers.

This is a great carseat. I have a very small 2yo daughter that we decided to finally turn forward facing in our car. With 5 kids, turning her carseat we had wasn't an option. I purchsed a Sunshine Radian (same carseat, old company name)2 yrs ago and haven't looked back. My 4yo is VERY happy with her Radian so I knew I could trust this carseat again with my 2yo. The slim design is wonderful and it sits low to seat. Installing this seat took only minutes, the latch system on this seat is very nice. While the carseat is heavy, it is very well made and I don't worry about the saftey of my kids while they are riding in it! It folds nicely if you plan to travel and I imagine sits nicely on an airplane seat with it's slim design. Overall this is a great carseat, my daughter is very comfy in it and I would highly recommend it to others!
