Highly recommended booster. Replacing SK Radian 65 to booster train my 6 year old. Fits great in Volvos which have fixed head rests that make many boosters incompatible with Volvos. If your seat belt doesn't retract well with the Monterey and the seat belt guides are red then call Diono and they will send you a new head rest. Our orange seat had newer head rest but our blue seat had older head rest. It is night and day the difference but don't put off giving this seat a chance. It is worth the issue of calling Diono. Love the LATCH feature as my husband would never remember or take the effort to secure booster with seat belt when seat is not in use. 6 year old loves this seat.

I am a parent of three children and a certified car seat technician. All carseats are safe but I look for some added side impact protection and other features in the seats I purchase. I bought two of these seats to replace some boosters after my daughters were in a rollover. They remained safe in their past booster seats but I love the fact that you can latch these seats into the vehicle so they will not let loose as a child gets out and falls on another passenger. The seat seems sturdy,offers side impact protection, is comfortable for my children, and can grow with the child both in the height and seatback. I was a bit nervous that the head protection 'wings' would be too tight but they are not at all and my girls seem happy in it. I would highly recommend this seat!
