Up until my son turned about 1 this was a great product. It was easy to use, change, and the smell wasn't a problem. However, now that I have an 18 month old it STINKS. Literally. There is no flap that separates the diapers from the air (it operates like a normal trash can) so every time you put a new diaper in, the smell of days of diapers comes out. Last night, my husband said, "I don't care what it costs, get something different". We'll keep it for our next infant, but get a new one for these toddler years.

I used a Diaper Dekor for my first child all the way through potty training and also with my second for the first year (before the Dekor Plus existed). The lid finally broke after 3.5 years of use. Before just buying another, I decided to do online research, trying to decide between the Diaper Dekor Plus and the Diaper Genie Elite II. I found some kind of 'baby research site' with videos and everything that swore the Diaper Genie was the hands down best at containing smell, even though the Dekor was easier to use. I have owned the Diaper Genie Elite II for about two weeks and HATE it. The Dekor used to contain the stink much better. The Diaper Genie is huge, unattractive and yet only works to contain about 4 diapers before the smell starts escaping, so essentially you have to change the liner all the time. Expensive. Also, in one refill bag cartridge, I only got three diaper pail changes out of it. The Diaper Dekor used to last through at least 4 or 5 diaper pail changes and used to hold A LOT more diapers in each. The Dekor is also a much more attractive,much more economic,and a more quality-looking product. The Genie is far inferior to the Dekor product. I don't know what I was thinking trying out another brand. Stick with what you know works. This does. Buying my Diaper Dekor Plus now...going to donate the Genie.

I have used this for the past 17 months. It worked great during breastfeeding, but once I introduced solids it started to stink & continued to get worse. It got so bad that our whole condo would smell. We would air it out for a day or 2 and once a dirty diaper sat in it for a few hours the smelliness returned. We ran out and bought a Diaper Genie Elite and have been VERY pleased.

I thought this was great for the first 6 months, easy to use, refill, seemed to do an ok job at containing the smell. But it's got less and less efficient as baby got older moved onto solids and now we are into full on toddler poop the Dekor is uselesss. Even if you empty it everyday, every time you put in a diaper the smell of anything dirty in there escapes and pervades the entire room. And that smell really hangs around these days as anyone with a toddler knows. Even when you empty it the smell seems to hang around the corner of the room where the Dekor is. I am now looking for a different one.

We love this diaper pail. It locks in the stinky odors and is super easy to use. We also love that it has biodegradable bags as an option-- we use gDiaper disposable inserts so it makes sense to toss them in a biodegradable bag! Love this product.

We've been using the same Diaper Dekor Plus pail for the past three years. I love the functionality of this pail, so much simpler than the Diaper Genie and contains smells better than other pails. The refills last a long time, or you could put in a trash bag. After three years and two kids worth of use, the spring holding the inner trap door closed seems to be wearing out so the inner trap door doesn't close as tightly as it once did. That said, the only time we notice a smell is when the trap door is fully open. We empty the pail once a week. It's not perfect, but it is the best option out there that I've seen!

I've never tried any other diaper disposal product before. The pail keeps any smell from escaping, it's kind of amazing actually. The only downside is that there is no way to gauge how full the bag is until you can't fit anymore diapers in it. When I'm no longer able to stuff any more diapers, the bag is then too full/heavy.

I've been using this for 18 weeks now and I have nothing but goods things to say! My daughter's room is a bit small, so keeping it "fresh" is a must. I will say, I change the bag every 3rd day and I also place an Arm & Hammer box (the ones that have vents on each side for the fridge), and woohoo, NO stinky diaper smell. I LOVE that I can easily open the lid and drop the diaper in w/out "smushing & twisting", all while I'm holding my LO. Also love that it's not bulky and does not interfere with my decor!

We started with the Arm and Hammer Munchkin pail, which worked fine for 6 months until the latch broke. I didn't like that the bags for the Munchkin weren't biodegradable, but our diapers and wipes are. Diaper Dekor is easy to use- lift the lid or step on the pedal and drop the diaper through the trap door- doesn't smell as long as the trap door shuts behind the diaper, and has the option of biodegradable bags. The refills are more expensive than Munchkin but they last a lot longer since the refill lasts through several loads, not just one. It's easy to empty and change the refill unlike other brands.
