I use Desitin only with night diapers and I never change diapers at night. EVER. I apply like "cream cheese on a bagel" So far, zero diaper rash! However, I hated scooping the paste out of the tub with a tissue or cotton swab or whatever. It was messy and got under my nails and everywhere. So, I just started buying it in the tube and squirting it on thick. It is more expensive by ounce in the tube but works so well and causes so little mess that I do it anyway. I just wish they made a huge tube so I could buy it more economically.

We use desitin for almost every diaper change, if needed, and especially at night. Sometimes our daughter has a little bit of a red bum so we'll put this on and by the next diaper change it's gone. The only thing we don't love about it is that it doesn't wipe off easily. Other than that, a little goes a long way and it's great!

When my 1st child was born in '07 I tried all the brands. I found that "purple" Desitin was the best at preventing and clearing up diaper rash. It lays on really thick so it protects your child's bottom from wetness. It doesn't smell like fake flowers, but if you want something that will clear up diaper rash caused by pooping in a wet swim diaper this is your product. A tube lasts a long time so please don't let price dissuade you. A little bit goes a long way on a tiny (or big) bottom.

I have 4 children (the oldest is 18 years.) I've used Desitin with all 4 kids. This is the best stuff for Diaper Rash. This product always cleared up the rash quickly. It does have a bit of a fishy odor, but if you read the ingredients, it has "Cod Liver Oil," or something of that nature. It does not wipe off easily, but I never minded that. The important thing is that is took care of the rash and baby was feeling better. :o) And besides, I trust the Desitin brand. Its been around for years.

Everyone has heard of Desitin and we know that it works, but when i had my first baby and went to buy destin i was bummed to discovery that it contains methylparaben. :(

So, I use the Burt's Bees diaper cream. It works great, smells wonderful and is natural!

My daughter has really sensitive skin and had diaper rash issues until we tried Desitin maximum strength and stuck with it. It is thick and offers long-lasting protection. Some people say it has a fishy odor but I have never noticed with this paste.

This cream works well to prevent diaper rash and to treat it, but the smell of it so horrific that I can't stand to use it! Bought a three pack and don't know what to do with it. Going to buy a different kind, the smell is really making me sick to my stomach, and it stays on forever!

Desitin is a stinky, but popular product. Works well when applied to kids at risk for a sore bottom (starting antibiotics, diarrhea). Do not try to wash it all off with each diaper change. If skin is already raw Desitin does not stick, so it does not protect. If skin is raw start with Pertrolatum Jelly (Vaseline) or Aquaphor until skin is intact. If skin red and bumpy, talk with Doctor - baby may need another treatment.

We use Desitin daily at each diaper change from birth to 10 months (so far). We keep the bigger cannister by the changing table and use the smaller tubes for travel. We love the product, and so does baby Elle. Only encountered a rash one time while traveling and unable to keep her normal bath routine and spot diaper changes.

I use this product only occasionally. My daughter does not seem to get diaper rash if we let her dry off before we put on the new diaper. If she does start to look a little red we put this on her and it does the job. It is so thick and creamy that it stays on through a second diaper change. It is also a great size to toss in a diaper bag. The sale price was a great deal for the money too. Very happy customer. Would recommend and buy again and again.
