Comments about Emily 4-in-1 Crib - Ebony - with Toddler Rail:

I'm interested in buying this crib but I cannot for the life of me find a mattress to fit it!!! The measurements say the crib is is 55" long and 34.5" wide but I haven't found a single mattress that seems to be that length and width so we haven't ordered the crib yet.

What size mattress does this crib take?? The description says "standard" but every mattress I look at is much smaller than this.

            Thanks,
            Einav

Comments about Emily 4-in-1 Crib - Natural - with Toddler Rail:

This is a great crib! It is spacious and very sturdy. My husband and I found the crib easy to assemble; only took us 45 minutes from unpacking to finished product. I'm not sure why other reviewers had such a hard time assembling their cribs; I guess some people can read directions but not follow them. The natural pine is beautiful, and although pine is a soft wood, I do not anticipate our child damaging it by chewing on it. I wonder if other reviewers had teething toys in the crib with their child.I just purchased the DaVinci mattress for $59.99, and after measuring our crib found that the mattress dimensions will be a perfect, snug fit with NO GAPS.We are very pleased with the crib and the cost of [$] (with $10 diaper credit). We look forward to converting from a crib, to toddler bed, to twin bed, as our child grows. We should have this crib for at least 10+ years and think that is a steal of a deal.

very sturdy and looks good. difficult to assemble though. Not a fan of the hardware, found it not user friendly at all. This crib won't budge though and I don't think our baby will ever outgrow it!

I've had this crib for a few months now and we love it! It only took 2 people 30 min to assemble. Lots of room for my little guy and I love how there are different levels for when he grows.

Pretty sturdy for the price of the crib. All in all, worth getting if you want a good quality crib without spending a whole lot.

It took awhile to assemble, but the crib is really solid and the Espresso wood color is very attractive. We chose this crib because it was rated very highly by Consumer Reports and we care first and foremost about safety, but pleased that it's also so nice looking.

I absolutely love this crib. The first time we put our son in it, he slept 13 hours - he loves it! I was a little worried after I read the reviews, but went with it anyway because we absolutely loved how it looked. It came within a week of ordering it - much faster than we thought! It took between 30 and 45 minutes to put together and wasn't hard at all. It's extremely sturdy... we tried to shake it a little and it didn't budge, which is perfect for when little man can stand up. A few people said that they had issues with mattresses fitting and that it was such a hassle, but we bought a cheap mattress from a store we all know and it fit perfectly, so I don't know what that's about. We've been using it for a while now and there still aren't any scratches or anything like that... and we've been pretty rough on it (moving, things like that). It's very beautiful, very functional, and totally worth the money.

Comments about Emily 4-in-1 Crib - Honey Oak - with Toddler Rail:

I got this crib to replace the drop-side recalled crib that I didn't feel comfortable using, so I already had a Sealy mattress, which had fit the old crib quite snugly. However, my standard-size Sealy mattress left 2-3 inch gaps on the side and end when placed in the new DaVinci Emily crib. The only mattress that I was able to find that would fit the DaVinci Emily crib safely was the Colgate Classica, because it is square and on the larger size. Anyway, after 2.5 years of continual use, this crib has really not impressed me. The slats seem flimsy, as if a good kick from a toddler could break them, so we'll have to see if this crib lasts through my son when he gets big enough to kick. My daughter was a fairly mild toddler, but she did manage to scratch up the finish tremendously. I really wish that I had paid the money for a decent crib in the first place, instead of getting the drop-side recalled crib first and the DaVinci Emily second. Neither crib has really been worth what I paid for them. What a hassle! My friends all paid about $400 for their cribs at a baby superstore, and they still look nice and are very sturdy after being used by two children.

I love this crib. I was really worried about it getting damaged while we put it together but we were careful and it went together easily.[...] It was very easy to put together (I heard cribs were hard). If you have put together anything from Ikea this will be a piece of cake. I love the ebony finish and it looks great against the blue we painted the room. I highly recommend this crib. While I was looking for cribs I fell in love with this one. I got the baby bargains book and they recommended it too for safety and price. The book did say it is made of a soft pine so be careful so that's what we did. Diapers.com is a great online store and it didn't cost a thing to get it shipped. Love everything about it!!

When I was pregnant with my first I spent a long time looking for cribs and found this one, its a great crib at a affordable price.
We have the natural finish and I get a lot of compliments on how nice the crib looks and how sturdy it is. There is so much room for the baby to sleep and she enjoys sleeping in it as well.
The only problem I have with the crib is the mattress sizing, it does not take a standard size mattress and there is about a 2 inch gap on one side of the mattress/crib side.
I do not know how it will handle with my teething baby but I have gotten teething rail guards so she does not damage the sides.
I will be buying another when I have a second child.

                              Much better than Storkcraft Crib

This is one item I wish we waited to purchase. We purchased a Storkcraft (chelsea) crib before our child was born. He was in that crib for a few months. There was a recall on the drop-down slide of the crib. We returned the crib, thankfully [...] took it back. We bought this crib instead. Our child is now 6 months old and I feel much safer putting him in this crib versus a storkcraft crib. First and foremost, million dollar baby company has NEVER had a recall on cribs. Secondly, all parts are metal (storkcraft had a few parts that were made out of wood that were questionable how well they would hold up). This crib HAS a box spring! There are NO wooden slates like the storkcraft Chelsea crib we owned. My child feels more comforable in this crib--we are using the same mattress. For the past three months my child has been rolling over. In this crib for some reason it seems to have more space. He seems to NOT have his arms/legs stuck in this crib as much as the storkcraft even though he is more mobile now. Overall, I would NOT trust any drop down slide after reading about the recalls on them with storkcraft. This product is perfect and sturdy and does take a while for my husband and I to put together. The storkcraft was much easier to put together. But this crib seems to have been made and shipped a lot nicer! The finish seems to hold up much better as well. Overall, I wish I bought this crib to begin with. We love the fact that as our child gets older, we can move the box spring down 4 times versus only two times with strokcraft crib. Really the drawer doesn't bother me to much. I am just happy he is in safer crib. Also, I would not suggest a pregnant person putting this together with or without a spouse. It is very HEAVY!!

It took my husband about an hour to assemble. The finish does scratch easily, but it doesn't bother us at all. We expected it after reading the reviews. Beautiful color.

My son is now 2 and we are looking to purchase another crib for the one on the way. Let me start by saying I really love this crib. It does scratch rather easy but ours is ebony and looks great despite the dings. My only concern (and more now that my son is a toddler) is that the design, having the rail above the front slatted part, leaves a perfect spot for him to try and get his foot in and haul himself over the railing -- even with the mattress on the lowest setting. While this has not occurred yet, the "writing is on the wall" and we know it's a matter of time before my monkey tries to climb out. Let me also say that my son is tall for his age and this may not be a true problem for most other kids. BUT we will not purchase this crib for the new addition (just in case). In the end though, I really have only positive things to say about the crib.
