Comments about Emily 3-Drawer Changing Table - Ebony:

Several occasions where baby legs get caught in the gap between top and safety bar. If you have a long baby this will be a problem causing possible injury. Lifting baby up with leg caught can hurt baby if you aren't paying close attention. I did it once then always was super cautious that his leg was not stuck in gap. My husband did it when his foot was in gap.
Now I have to warn whoever else changes his diapers on it to be careful. Very dangerous design for a longer baby.
Plus my son opens the drawers. I'm afraid a drawer will fall out on him.

Haven't used as a changer yet since the baby isn't due for a couple more months. I helped my husband put it together and it wasn't too difficult although there were a lot of pieces. Very sturdy once it was put together and the finish of all my DaVinci Espresso pieces match perfectly. Also a pretty good match to other brands with that same finish. We have a glider and end table that were purchased elsewhere.

Comments about Emily 3-Drawer Changing Table - Cherry:

We use this primarily as a changing table. The safety rails are great but once the baby outgrows it, you cannot remove the rails and make it a dresser. The construction is very flimsy and the drawers do not hold any weight and fall apart very easily. It was not worth the money. Get something better. I bought this online without really looking at the product in store. I would recommend actually looking at a piece of furniture before buying to check quality.

It was easy to assemble. It feels quite sturdy and strong. My only complaint is the paint has chipped in a couple spots after having it for only a couple months.

We puchased this item before our daughter was born, she is now 2 years old. We've moved twice since buying the product and it held up very well throughout the move. The changer was moved totally assembled and survived very careless movers (unfortunately our guest bedroom furniture wasn't so lucky). They did scratch the changer in a few areas, but it still looks good. My only complaint is that the drawers sometimes go off track and you have to loosen the bolts to realign. Good product!

We bought all 3 Emily pieces, and by far, this is the best one. We had problems with the other two, but the wood on this one is fabulous. No marks, nicks, scratches, peeling veneer...nothing!

              Flimsy materials

Comments about Emily 3-Drawer Changing Table - Ebony:

The basic frame of the piece is solid wood and sturdy. The drawer faces are also solid wood. But the solid wood (I bought the natural finish) scratches and dents easily, and even came with some dents from shipping. The rest of it however, is cheap, thin, particle board-like material. The drawer sides and bottom are very flimsy. The changing table surface is also thin particle board, and doesn't seem like it's made to hold much weight.

I was nervous about purchasing this over the interent, without seeing it in person. But after seeing the reviews and the price I could not help it. I am very pleased with my decision. Putting it together was pretty easy, may need 2 people at times. It looks great.

This changer is wonderful, but I will not lie. My husband and I were so excited to put this changer together as our first project for our little girl. It ended up not being as fun as we thought it would be. There were directions, but not one piece of the furniture was labeled, so it was difficult to figure out which piece went where. I would recommend this piece, but be prepared to get frustrated while puttting it together. It took us hours to complete it!

Comments about Emily 3-Drawer Changing Table - Ebony:

Putting the drawers in (second to last step) gouged the wood. The directions were obviously not proofread, because they referred to parts that are not part of the table. The safety strap did not have holes drilled for it, even though it has screws included for it. I assume it is an important part, but the makers apparently don't think it's that important.

I like the look of this dresser, but after a couple of months the finish was scratched up. When you lean over to change the baby the finish scratches and dents up pretty bad. I would not recommend this.

I had a hard time finding a changer tall enough so my back wouldn't hurt. We read reviews, bought the crib too, & all I have to say is yes, soft wood, horrible instructions, but absolutely looks beautiful. Better than any we saw in the stores.

              not completely wood

Comments about Emily 3-Drawer Changing Table - Ebony:

We received this changing table on Friday 1/05. My husband put it together. The back of the changing table is not made of wood - quite flimsy material, the inner drawers the same. The drawers are not as deep as we thought, and there are tons of scratches all over the furniture. If I had to do this all over again I would have gone to a reputable store and purchase a solid wood, gorgeous, peice of changing table. I suggest for any parent, who wants a long lasting furniture: just add a couple hundred bucks and purchase something that will last a life time, this I give an estimate use of 5 years before it becomes junk. I am totally not pleased, but my baby is due any day now. A. A. White-Tucker
