We bought this for our daughter's room and use it pretty much daily -- we live in SoCal so the air is dry and it really helps her. My husband cleaned it regularly with vinegar and it worked great the entire time. Until the other day, when I went to unplug it and it sparked and the plug feel completely off the cord. No fire, and our daughter's room was fine -- though the spark caught my wedding ring and I got a small burn.

I'm totally sure that this was a fluke, and based on its year-long performance with daily use, I'm buying another. I would just (a) be careful, and if you happen to see a spark, replace it, and (b) keep in mind that if you expect any appliance for which you paid $45 to last forever, you're likely to be disappointed. No appliance is built to last any more.

As I said, I'm purchasing a replacement because we've been happy with the performance of this humidifier overall.

This product is so quiet that I couldn't even tell it was on. I like that you can direct the humidifier in different directions. Also, can work as a nightlight while on as it has a light that comes on.

Initially I loved this humidifier. Not having to replace a filter was nice and it put out a good amount of mist. However, after owning three of this brand of humidifiers over the last two years I won't be buying any more. If you run them at night for three to six months, which is what we did, they break. If you don't mind replacing it or only need it for that long you are fine. We use ours quite a bit and they just don't hold up.

First of all, any humidifier can work wonders on how you feel when you wake up in the morning during the winter. But I also love the look of this particular humidifier- very modern! Fits nicely in the decor in our master bedroom, while we have Crane's elephant cool mist humidifier in our 1 year old's room. We love both of them & would recommend them to anyone.

This is our second Crane humidifier and it doesn't disappoint. It is really quiet, easy to use, easy to fill and works great. The filter is optionally which I fully appreciate. Who wants to spend a lot on a humidifier, only to have it just sit in the closet because the filter needs replacing and you can't find it, or keep forgetting to pick one up?

We bought this to replace a Graco humidifier and I haven't had any issues. I am in the process of purchasing another one for another bedroom.

We bought this to help out our 2yr old with his stuffy nose. Our previous experience with humidifiers dealt with loud motors and water puddles everywhere. Upon using this humidifier, we were extremely pleased with its quiet operation and sleek look. An unexpected but pleasant surprise was how elegantly the product was packed. It was very reminiscent of unpacking an Apple product. Anyways, the humidifier really helped with our sons nose, which causes happy parents, which caused this pleasant review on diapers.com.

One thing that we weren't so happy about, is that the humidifier is kind of a pain to clean. But, truthfully, I have never come across a humidifier that was actually all that easy to clean anyways. If, you need a humidifier, you would be hard pressed to find a better one than this.

On a side note, customer service on diapers.com was extremely helpful in helping us order. When they couldn't ship the color we were looking for, they were quick to give us a credit on our next order without us even asking for that. Well done, diapers.com!

We bought two of these. One works well, but is very difficult to clean and seems to get moldy pretty fast. The other leaked everywhere after the first use. I thought maybe my husband just set it up in a hurry. But, the same thing happened the next night when I set it up. And in the morning it didn't work at all (probably because it had been sitting in a pool of water).

This is the 3rd Crane humidifier we have and I loved the style of it. Clean and cute. It looked great in my daughter's room. But as with the other cranes we purchased it broke, and this one within three weeks of use. And for [$], it should last longer. They don't even come with a warrentee so I can't get it replaced.

Works well. We've used it for 2 weeks and it's worked well. It's quiet and does NOT leak. We originally bought the Crane elephant cool mist humidifier b/c we thought it's be cute in the jungle-themed nursery. The elephant humidifier did not work well. Most times, we couldn't get it to work at all. We returned it for this one. We haven't cleaned it yet, so I cannot comment to the easy or difficulty of cleaning it.

I bought this humidifier for my sister who suffers from chronic sinus problems. She keeps it on all night and says it is quiet and helps her sleep better. Reduces that dry nose problem.

I love Diapers.com but this product does not last. We have gone through two in 6 months, and both times, the knob would not turn the machine on. It seems like it isn't catching or something to turn it on. We enjoyed it while it lasted and my son needs it, so we are off to research a different manufacturer. Quite disappointed.
