I used the pig almost every night, through the whole night. It was pretty quiet and kept the room humid enough for my liking. I had it for 1.5 yr. then it started making VERY loud noises. I called Crane and was told that the noise was from the fan. It was dispapoointing, but not completely unexpected, even though my frog is still working after almost 5 yrs. Reason for my disappointment is that when I first purchased it 1.5 yr ago, I had noticed that the heat sink for the nebulizer was covered up by the pink plastic. (Heat sink is the black ring you see in the basin.) I even took picture and sent to Crane. However, Crane rep assured me that it was just "painted pink". Since it was working, I didn't want to argue. But with the heat sink covered, it didnt suprise me that the fan had to work extra hard and broke down quicker. Anyway, i believe that was a mfr defect. Unfortunately, it broke after mfr warranty. So, just be aware. Different units are mfr'd at differnt location in different year. My frog has no problem. My mother in law has a dog, no problem either. If/when the unit works, it works great.

We have this humidifier in our nursery and it helps our girl sleep more comfortably and longer at night. We like the fact that the pig design makes it less "medical" and more "fun" in her room.

I use this in my autistic sons room(he LOVES pigs). I love that you don't have to replace a filter in it. The only thing i have noticed is that it does make a water mess as it runs. And even as you take the container off of the base to re-fill it water seems to drip everywhere. Other then that, I love this item. And the look on my sons face when I opened it was priceless:)
