I was looking for a reasonably priced mattress that wasn't wrapped in plastic and made with polyurethane foam AND was light! (the first mattress i bought was 27 lbs) thank goodness for diapers.com excellent customer service...they let me exchange it. This one weighs 8 lbs.I liked that it had NO odor upon arrival.It seems to be about 1/2 in thinner than other mattress, but it doesn't really matter it fits nice and snug in the crib, like it should.I am giving it a 4-star because its SO hard! I know that is what is recommended. My baby seems to like it and has been sleeping well on it so it must not be too hard for him

I am very pleased with my purchase of the Cologate Eco mattress. It is very firm which is beneficial to infants and is made of a light weight foam that is easy to lift. I was looking for a mattress that was reasonably priced and had organic qualities,
and I think I found the best option. Baby sleeps very well and so do I. I also purchased a organic waterproof mattress pad to go along with it to protect the mattress and add a little comfort. Although I would recommend when purchasing a new crib and mattress, to budget more for your mattress. I did go over budget because I purchased a spectacular crib and didn't realize the importance of quality in a mattress.
