My daughter would only fall asleep on my chest for the first two weeks after we brought her home. A friend lent us the Sleep sheep and it was instantly possible to put her to sleep using the heartbeat sound. She is 8 months old and we still use the ocean sound just to drown out any background noise in the house that might wake her up after she first goes to sleep. We take it with us when we travel and I think it has really assisted in creating continuity in her bedtime routine.

Plus, I love hearing the wave sound through the monitor, helps me fall back to sleep after a midnight feeding. I think this is a must have for all first time parents.

We bought the first one thinking it would help the transition from rocking them to sleep each night. Which it did.

And then the heartbeat, which we use every night, died. So we got another.
Tonight te third heartbeat just died as we went to bed. In hindsight, wish we hadn't gone down this road - if I could find something else to make the heartbeat sound we would switch!

This product would be great if it lasted for more than 45 minutes at a time. It's really annoying when you've gotten your baby to sleep only for them to awake exactly 45 minutes later when the white noise shuts off. So frustrating! Otherwise it would be fine.

We began using this product as soon as we brought our son home from the hospital. We kept this sheep (and other various sound machines) nearby for the first three months and used it every night to help ease the baby back to sleep. The sounds (I think) provide a sense of continuity when we travel and helps our son fall asleep in new places even when there is other background noise in the house. I give this or the travel size version to every new mom I know.

There is something magical about this sheep. Sure, it's super-cute, very soft, snuggly, etc. The ocean noise is a great white noise for babies learning (or RE-learning!) to sleep in their cribs. BUT I have no idea why my daughter wakes up in the middle of the night, stares at this thing and then falls back asleep in FIVE MINUTES! After snuggling with us in bed for way too long, we decided our 11-month old HAD to sleep in her own crib since we have another little one on the way. The first few nights were awful. She cried all night and no amount of pacifiers, ssh-ing, caressing, etc. would calm her down for more than 30 seconds. When my husband said, "Let her cry it out," I started crying instead. I caved when my almost-toddler spent all night kicking the baby in my belly in her sleep. I would not leave her alone in the crib, though, so I bought the Sleep Sheep. I watched in utter amazement on the video monitor when she woke up in the middle of the night, stared at the Sleep Sheep for five minutes and passed out holding it while it was still attached to the side of the crib. I have no idea why this thing works over other stuffed animals and sound machines, but it does. If you need to train your baby to sleep in her crib all night (and she doesn't need other attention: teething, illness, ear infections, etc.) BUY THE SLEEP SHEEP. It is magical.

I have a 6 month old daughter and she has fought sleep from a very young age. Bedtime/nap time was a constant battle filled with a screaming baby and an hour or more of rocking, humming and bouncing. My daughter got the sleep sheep for Christmas and I must say, it has saved my sanity! I still walk and rock her with a song before I lay her down, but then I am able to place her in bed with her sheep on and she goes right to sleep most nights. If there is any fussing it is less than 15 minutes then she will give in to the soothing sound of the waves or the whales. I would def. recommend this product for those who have issues with sleep!

I LOVED this product. My daughter used it everynight and had a hard time sleeping without it until she was about 1 1/2. I had my son just 11 months after my daughter so we bought him his own and they both used them. My daughter prefered the heartbeat sound, while my son loved the waves noises. Has an adjustable volume and I loved that feature. I don't know why some people said it was poorly constructed. I didn't have a problem with either one of mine, and in fact my daughter is now 2years 4 months old and now plays with hers like any other stuffed toy (roughly) and it is still in perfect condition.

This was a lifesaver for us. Our twin girls go down easily as the ocean and rain sounds have been a consistent part of their bedtime routine (also helps to settle them at naptime!). The heartbeat and whale sounds seem a little silly, but we just don't use them. We have occasional night-waking when new teeth are popping, etc, but in genreal we are quite happy with the Sleep Sheep and continue to purchase this for our pregnant friends. Also good for travel as it is something familiar to ground them when in a new environment (and you can always take the sound machine out of the sheep for compact packing).

My son loves it... that is the only way he will go to sleep at night. He loves the heart beat and the ocean waves(that one is my favorite too). If we go out of town we bring sleep sheep so he can feel like hes at home!

This is a cute product and extremely soft and cuddly, however, as a white noise machine, it is too quiet even on max volume. You can take the sound maker out of the sheep to make it a little louder but I really wish the volume could be increased a lot more.

this little lamb attaches by velcro to crib bars or carseat handle. the four sounds are all soothing, but we like the ocean and the rain ones best. we use it in the car when we're trying to get her to sleep. timer can be set to 23min or 46min. i wish there were a continuous setting, as it's sometimes a pain to reset it; sometimes the baby wakes up if it's not reset. an idea would be to use this as a sleep cue, but on a low setting, so she doesn't wake up when it goes off.

We really liked this product for several months. It wasn't really working any more, but we still had it on the crib. Yesterday I got my 12mth old out of the crib and noticed that the stitching for one of the ears had come undone. The ear was laying in his crib. It worries me that since my son that puts everything in his mouth, he could have choked on it. I would recommend buying a regular, adult noise machine over this.
