First off, I have to say that I don't think the previous reviewer completely understands the concept of having 2 bags. The larger bag is HUGE. I can't believe how large it actually is. There are NO pockets on the inside of it though, which is a minor flaw. I used the clear bag to hold ointments and the random small stuff that I send to daycare with my son. It holds TONS of diapers, change of clothes, etc... I use the big bag to send to daycare with him and if we have to travel somewhere that would require a larger quantity of diapers and items (rare).
The small bag is really great. I hate lugging a gigantic diaper bag into stores with me and the small bag is the perfect solution. Currently, I have a WHOLE pack of wipes, not travel size, 4-5 diapers (size 3), a change of clothes, hand sanitizer, and a pack of disposable bags to put dirty diapers/clothes in if necessary, and the changing pad all nicely tucked into the small bag. There are still the 2 pockets on the front that are empty which could hold bottles or toys. I also still have space to pack more stuff in there if I need to. It's perfect for short trips, which is it's intended purpose. I have NO earthly idea why anyone would need to take both bags somewhere unless your kid has too much junk. In that case, you probably need to re-assess what's actually necessary and what is just taking up space and not serving a purpose.
Also, the changing pad IS small, but my son have never really fit completely on a portable changing pad like this. He's 6 months old and 28"... I would be hard pressed to find any changing pad that tucks neatly into a diaper bag that is large enough to fit him.
Another point... this arrived at my house while I was at work. There was a massive downpour that gsoaked through the box. The bag was in plastic but still got wet. The bag was not damaged at all. I simply wiped it off with a paper towel and it was like it had never been wet.
All that being said... this is my THIRD diaper bag because, up until now, I haven't found one I liked. I won't be buying another one now!
Comments about 5 Piece Diaper Bag Set:
I purchased this diaper bag to replace my previous diaper bag which was too small. This diaper bag has a lot more room. However, the main diaper bag has NO pockets on the inside and only two bottle pockets on the sides (which you have to be careful how you pack the diaper bag or you can't fit bottles or sippy cups into the pockets) and one large pocket on the front of the bag that has no depth so if you put something that is somewhat thick in that pocket, it bulges on the inside, limiting space to put other things.
I had to buy some kind of purse organizer to separate all of the small things I carry so I didn't have to dig for them each time I needed to use them.
Also, the little clear bag it comes with is attached to the inside of the main bag. In the diaper bags description it says that it's good for holding messy clothes. It is not. Something that doesn't make sense to me is that if the clear bag is good for holding messy clothes, why isn't it in the smaller changing bag? Not to mention the clear bag doesn't have any depth to it either, so anything you place in it that isn't flat causes it to bulge, making it difficult to organize things around it.
I wish the shoulder straps were a little bit longer on the main bag because when you need to carry both the main bag and the changing bag into places, you have to put the changing bag into the main bag and sometimes it's difficult to get your arm through the straps. I've tried carrying them separately, but when I carry the changing bag on my shoulder first and then the main bag, it becomes very bulky under my arm; and when I carry the main bag on my shoulder first and then the changing bag, the changing bag is always sliding off my shoulder.
Don't get me wrong, I love this diaper bag and it's a major upgrade from my previous one. I just don't understand why some things about it were designed the way they are.
I know for some people a major thing is the changing pad that comes with the bag. While the changing pad is a bit small and my 6 month old son can't fit on the whole thing laying down, it is very easy to get out of the changing bag's pocket and very easy to fold back up (one handed) and put back into the pocket.
I know the stuff I listed may sound negative, but some of those things may be important to other people. I wish I would have known these things before I purchased this bag. Overall though, this is a good bag, and I would recommend this to other mothers.
